I just wanted to say that as a newbie I learned so much from those of you who were at the Staple Club meeting in Fairfax last night! I was supposed to go to the one in Woodbridge on June 1st, but you know IH95 and Route 1 traffic! I hope to meet more of you all in the future! Thanks again for all the great advice and words of wisdom!

GRRR! I missed it last night (hubby turned into a *** on the way there so I turned around and took him home! ). Were recipes shared from the Potluck? Anyone care to recap the highlights? I'm so upset that I missed it as I was looking forward to it! Hope to make it to the next one. Christina S

Christina, there were some great recipes. Sally is going to post them on Dr. Anez' website. The rest of it was open forum for questions etc. It was nice since there were quite a few peopel who are pre op and wanting info. Courtney

newcomers are always welcome. The recipes last night were awesome! Donna was kind enough to give me schicken salad to take home to my husband. HE LOVED IT! ME too.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you. My sister (Cappymoon) and I were going to come to the meeting, but she found out yesterday that she has a kidney infection, so she couldn't go. There was no way I was going to make it from Arlington to Fairfax myself on public transportion in that short of a time, so we had to scratch the whole thing. If she hadn't had to go to the hospital (it wasn't THAT serious, but the PCPs office was way overbooked, two partners out on maternity leave at the same time, who says it's not in the water?? ) and spend most of the day there, I was going to accuse her of making it up so she didn't have to bring a dish. I'm thinking it was a blessing in disguise anyhow, I tried to make a pureed dish which ended up looking a whole lot like refried bean goop. I'm eating it for lunch this week. Mmm goop. See you all next month anyhow. Julie

Hi Kathleen, it was good to meet you on Monday night. I know how fun it is to meet people at a support meeting before surgery - you can really pick their brain!! And please do that - we are here for you to answer even what YOU might think is the dumbest question, Trust me, I had plenty. I hope you come again. This isn't the support meeting from my doctor (which is in the district) and I go there on occasion, but I do get so much from this group, and they are always so welcoming to someone like me out of the Fairfax INOVA groups. So come back, if you can! love donna
