BIG...BIG...BIG NEWS!!!!!!
Hey Everyone, 
I haven't posted in a while because I really didn't have any news. I have waited and waited for the decision to come down from my insurance company. Now for any of you newbies who aren't familiar with me or my journey this is the condensed version. Went to my PCP back in June 2005 and talked to her about weight loss surgery. She referred me to Dr. Schroader who does gastric bypass and lap bands. I saw him on July 21, 2005. Paperwork was submitted 3 times and denied 3 times. I then switched doctors because they were coding my paperwork with the wrong procedure code. When I called Commonwealth Surgeons I was told that my insurance requried a 6 month medically supervised diet. I then went each month for the next 7 months to weigh in and track my food & exercise. I lost a total of 9 pounds (which I am sure I have gained back now from the stress of waiting for an approval). My paperwork was resubmitted by Hilarie on April 27, 2006. It was denied yet again. Hilarie resubmitted it again with an appeal. It went from that to a peer to peer reveiw. I have waited almost a month calling everyday, checking and rechecking only to be disappointed each and everytime.
Well, tonight at 7:38 p.m. I got a call from the surgeon's office and finally I am APPROVED!!!!! 
Can I say that again........APPROVED!!!!! I am totally beside myself with excitement. I can express my thanks and gratitude to all of you who stood by me and gave me continued support and well wishes!!! I am so happy! I am so excited! It looks like I may have a July 3rd surgery date. I told them if I can get in sooner to just say the word and I would be there. I have to wait until Tuesday when I talk to Hilarie before I will know anymore. I will be sure and post and let everyone know the details as I know them. Love you all so much!!!

I am so happy. I can't express it enough. I have waited so long and gone through so much and finally I got the word. I must confess I did call Natalie and tell her over the phone but that's only because she is going to be my "ANGEL" and I promised her from way back that I would call her before I did anyone else.
I am finally on my way...................it won't be long now........Thanks for all your love and support.

This is going to be one 4th I will never forget!!!! I may be in ICU but it will still be the most memorable time for me. I just can't wait to be on my journey. I want pictures to document it every step of the way.

Girl I know just how you feel! I just got the news Monday that I was finally approved after waiting 3 years and going through 5 insurance companies! Isn't it a fantastic feeling? I'm so excited for you because I know we will be going down this road together! (my date is June 23rd)

Here is your angel flying in ... I was so excited in Wallmart tonight when you called me .. I had tears in my eyes ... and really could not express what I wanted to .
You are so ready for this . I know that you have listened and took my advice about getting ready ... and I knew that your attitude .. and persisitance would prevail .
