You know today was a pre op wow moment for me. I have cut out soda completely, maybe over a month or so ago. I was a Diet Coke addict *bows head in shame*...anyhow...as I am trying to start my new life pre op I cut soda out and all caffinated drinks as well as drinks that have sugar in them. Basicly I have been drinking WATER till it comes out my ears and little bits of Crystal Lite. Well....I noticed today that my skin has cleared up AMAZINGLY on my face and the rest of my body is looking so much better skin wise. My hands were getting really dry and icky looking with almost wrinkled looking appearance! Now it is all soft and supple very nice and healthy looking. I can't believe how much a difference there is in my body since I cut out that crap! Also, I napped today for way longer than I normally would if I had and of course while I was napping I didn't drink like I would have if I was up obviously...when I woke up I felt like GARBAGE and soo thirsty. Water really does a body good! Such a simple thing does one such wonders! Hugs! Shele PS> DRINK YOUR WATER!

That is great information on the positive effects of water/vs soda. An aspect I'm sure many of us don't really think of. I've had plenty of soda postop, and can say although I don't believe it's hurt my pouch, I'd have to say the it does "temporarily" expand it so that I can fit a larger amount of food in there. Maybe has this effect for about an hour then I'm back to normal if that makes any sense. I'm a great burper (LOL) so I'd say the gas comes back out fine, but still it does have an effect. GO FOR THE WATER!!!! It's better for you all the way around!!! XOXOOXOXOOXOXO Sharon

Sharon you are too funny! Well I went to the spring today and got me some more water. I love our spring. I am going to miss it when I get to VA...is there a spring anywhere around there? I will drive to the end of the state for a spring. It's grea****er! Ha haaaaaa! Hugs Shele

I noticed the same things when I gave up soda. I also noticed that my bp went down a little...I'm guessing it's because soda has lots of sodium. It really is nuts what is acceptable now to put into our bodies. Liz
