my PCP in Richmond is the greatest
I just wanted to take a moment and say that my PCP in midlothian, virginia is the best!! Her name is Kara Foster-Weiss! she is the FNP for dr. reinhart, i have never met him though. This woman is amazing. I have social anxiety disorder and I have not once felt uncomfortable around her. She is very compassionate. I can come to her for anything and not feel bad or embarrassed. Even very private things lol. She is totally supportive of my WLS and is very informed about this subject. She took the steps needed to ensure that I went to the best surgeon that she knew and even set up my appointments with the place! I love her sooo much, she is awesome! I am moving to roanoke this month, I will still come to richmond every time i need to see a pcp just to see her! Please if you are in richmond, consider this woman to help you on your journey, she is really a god send!!!
Hi Spazzle....I have been seeing a nurse practioner for years...I think they are wonderful and don't need to see a dr. I have one here in Danville that is amazing and they take the time that most dr's don't. Karen has become not only my PCP but my friend as well. She has helped me through some really tough times.
Hugs,
Betsy
That' makes ALL the difference in the world, too, SPAZ!!! I'm so glad you have such a great relationship with yours!!
When I first moved to VABeach, I had to go through the "interviewing" process for a new PCP. Typical with the military life, you never seem to keep one for long. The first one I was assigned was awesome - kinda young guy, clueless to WLS, but very willing to learn and be open minded to what I already knew. Unfortunately, he was deployed within a few months and I went thorugh FOUR more, before I found another I liked. The previous four? Lasted exactly ONE visit. Two walked in the room with an attitude, how dare they have to do their job and spend six minutes with a patient, huh? Since I rarely both seeing a doc, it's pretty safe to say, if Im there, it's a good reason - so a docs' "attitude" or their ability to show you how PUT OFF they are that they have to work, lasts about 2 seconds with me.
...I have one Ex-PCP at the VaBeach Clinic that will turn around and walk the other way, rather then make eye contact with me.
I suspect it was my/our parting words to each other the one and only time I let the twit work for me. Cause, yep, whether their egos allow for it or not - they do work for US and can be replaced/fired with the best of 'em.
Good luck to you in your weight loss journey - Lei
