EGD/ endoscopy done today !!!
Glad to hear they've 'scoped you and hopefully you'll be able to incorporate REAL food again, sometime today.
I was very fortunate and NEVER had a stricture although Ive had many friends who have. One lady (Brook) from the main board, ended up with about 8 of them. Although that is very UNUSUAL, it's a possibility. The upside, if you DO have to go back and get another scoping, the "unknown" is no longer part of the factor. It's so much easier if you know what to expect.
Sooooooooooooooo - what was your first meal this morning, hmmmmm?
Hmmmmmmmm..well I was very bad and went against doctor's orders last night and had a few bites of clam chowder and about 1/4 of a grilled cheese. The doc told me that if it happens again he has a device like PVC pipe he can put down to keep it open. He had a feeling it would come back because it was so closed.
I am just so happy to be feeling better but I am also really angry that this went on for over a month. I should have not taken my doctor's words that it was too early for a stricture, when I had read differently on here. I should have called back..but I didn't know any better. Even in the ER, you don't see many WLS patients with strictures.
Now I keep going back and forth on this food issue. I want to eat, but I haven't eaten in a month..so I am afraid I am going to gain weight. I am such a slow loser.. but wasn't when I didnt eat for a month !!!! My emotions are getting the best of me right now.
