We Can Do Hard Things

Happy SATURDAY morning, my TMB family! I've been up a couple of hours, but haven't accomplished much yet....despite my good intentions. I have given myself a deadtime of being off the computer in 20 minutes, or I'd sit here all morning. I'm not EVEN going to log in to Pinterest..I KNOW better!!

I plan to play Domestic Goddess this morning, finish a nap "lovey"/pillow I'm making for one of my munchkins, who has a birthday party today...then go to her party...visit a precious friend who moved from hospital to rehab in nursing home yesterday...then...I don't know what...Here's a pic of Diva Z, who turned "The Big 1" on Thursday--she's tiny--only weighs 17 lbs--but she has a huge spirit/voice/ATTITUDE--thus the nickname Diva Z

Health-wise, my plan is to concentrate on FLUIDS this weekend. It's difficult to get them in on workdays. I have NO excuse/challenge on the weekends-so my 2.2 liter is filled to ready to be emptied-into my mouth!!

Hope each of you have some wildly exciting plans to share!!!

Waiting on 17:00 to get here and wasting some of the taxpayers money before I go to the house and morph back into a "normal" person again. One of those days where you can hear the Dueling Banjos in stereo when I was talking to people and I wondered if a Jerry Springer production crew was lurking somewhere nearby.

Tomorrow maybe some domestic duties, if Jan does not want to give the cleaning lady I found a "try out" next week, otherwise it is a coffee run and sucking up the AC.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

"Dueling Banjos, in stereo"...LOVE it...

DON...I can't wait to read the autobiography you write, after you retire. Whom would you like to play you in the MOVIE, after the BOOK, flies off the shelves, and the movies studios go nuts, fighting for the screen rights?

Hands down, I have Bette Midler, on retainer, to play me

I don't know who I would want to play me in the movie but I can tell you the book title would be a long the lines of "People are ate up with the dumb ass!" kiss

Good afternoon

Taking the evening train today. Been a busy day, had awesome support group this morning, then went to a memorial service for DH cousin and now we are about to head to my sisters for a swimming party.

Tomorrow will be church and working a couple of hours.

Good evening. I was busy since early is morning, so just now boarding the train. Mi went to Walmart and Lowes at 7:30 this morning, unloaded groceries, then tarted cooking for tomorrow for a swim party I am going to after SS. Hopefully it won't rain us out. We need rain, but it could hold off until late afternoon. Benand I worked in his classroom, then came home and put something else on our big drive thru gates to help hold them steady when it gets windy. After that it was a shower, then a manicure and washing dishes. It's been a super busy day. I plan on relaxing and having fun tomorrow.

Hope everyone else has had a good day!

Karla,

I don't know what kind of gates, custom built on site, custom wrought iron or off the rack TSC, you have but where I have double gates, off the rack TSC variety, I have some short pieces of 3/4" ID pipe welded on there as a guide to the 3/4" sucker rod that runs up and down through them.  The handle is the top of the road heated and bent to a 90 degree angle from the rest of the rod.  Looks like an up side down "L".  The other end dragging on the ground, when they are dropped down, holds a gate open, or closed, like a charm.

Don, that is what I put on the back of my gets yesterday. They are custom built wooden gates(by us) and I put a regular latch on it that I could use a padlock with, then 2 wrought iron bar latches. The wind could still move them, soon the back we put the cane bars you are talking about and buried PVC pipe for them to slide into. Hopefully they are set for wind now!

Wooden gates = surface area for wind.  Tube gates surface area not so much of an issue but have still chased them in the wind till I got the "engineering" right.  Sounds like you got a, pun intended, handle on it.
