Friday WLX - All Aboard!

We made it to the end of another week!  Hot diggity!  If you are catching some more rain please share with the rest of us.

Get to be "Grandpa Don" this weekend so depending on the timetables involved may or may not get to ride down to Centerville with Jan to pick them.  No water park this time.  Think highlight will be taking them to see Pixar's "Planes".  Otherwise it is another day of fighting crime by fighting grime.

Morning Don and TMB Family,

I'm very tired this AM.   In 3 hours my son and I will be attending a funeral of a young lady he was in Teen Challenge with in San Antonio.    She was 23 yrs. old and died of a heron overdose last week leaving behind 2 small babies.   My heart is very very heavy today.    I really had only met her one time at their banquet last year in San Antonio.    I hate funerals but don't want my son to have to go say goodbye to his friend by himself.    Very very sad someone so young who had stopped doing drugs turned back to that terrible addiction.    My heart hurts for her loved ones because by God's grace that could have been my child.   Please if you think about it say a prayer for this family.   Not a lot of plans so far for the weekend.   Have a great day and weekend.

VIV-so very sorry about the fate of this young lady. o doubt she, and her family, had already been to hell and back. SHE will not suffer anymore, but those she leaves behind will, of course.

ANY addiction is heartbreaking, but heroin has to be one of the worst-just all encompassing..extra special thoughts for Shawn, in the loss of his personal friend

Thank you Gina.  Yesterday was very hard for both of us.    I had only met the young lady once at the TC Banquet in San Antonio last year but still it affected me.   That could have been MY child.    Shawn was a 6 yr. heron user.   Thank GOD he's been clean now for over 2 yrs.

Thank you Don.   I too am very proud of him but Teen Challenge gave him the "tools" he needed to over come that addiction to heron.    He ended up not graduating the program due to getting ill...but he was there 10 out of the 12 months.   It's a AMAZING program.

Good Morning

Did not sleep much last night. One of those nights you wake up and can't go back to sleep and when you finally do the alarm goes off.

Have to log in to work a little early this morning since my boss decided to schedule a 8am meeting which I am not looking forward to.

Tomorrow is doggie splash day but only taking one of the dogs. The two dogs we inherited don't know how to act in public.

We are getting rain this morning and see storms in the forecast so Will will be getting a chill pill.

Scales still showing the right digits.

Good morning. I am off for 3 days. Iam doing laundry and will be cleaning house. Ben had "midnight madness" football practice, so he will be sleeping all morning I am sure. This afternoon we need to go work on his classroom for a while.
