Hi, there my Texas Friends - just wanted to say, "Hi" and to wish each of you an awesome awesome Sunday and upcoming week.

Newest Blog Update:

I won't take long, but just want to periodically keep a record of what's going on with my VSG progress. August 3, 2013 was my 4 month WLS anniversary. I am still VERY happy with my surgery and my decision to have the sleeve done versus the DS. I am not losing as quickly with the sleeve, of course, but have really had no complications whatsoever, so I'll take the slower loss. I know it will take more time and more work to get to goal and to maintain, but I really think I can do it.  Even though I've only lost 60 lbs since surgery, 83 from my highest weight, and have another 80 to go, I feel better than I have in over 20 years!! It is wonderful, to say the least. I'm also hoping the slower weight loss will help eliminate some of the "extra skin issues" that so many OH people have mentioned. I guess time will tell. Also, faithfully using a firming lotion all over my body.

I was really hoping to not go through the whole hair loss ordeal, but I didn't get that lucky. I started losing hair about 2 weeks into my third month and have been, somewhat concerned. Just hoping extra vitamins, biotin, flaxseed oil, zinc,  CoQ10, protein and hair treatment program (Nioxin) will help lessen the problem. Keeping my fingers crossed. We'll see. 😳

I've had mostly good eating/exercising days over the last 3 1/2 months. However, I had a few bad days this past week to week and a half, where I just did mindless eating plus no exercise. I find that the days I'm a slouch and don't stay busy, I eat out of boredom or because I'm tired and feel like I "need" to eat. ALL HEAD HUNGER, for sure, and is something I'm going to have to work on.

Okay. That's enough for now.

Blessings and Hugs 😊🙏                                Susie

Way to go Susie! angry

I still take a Biotin (OTC on vitamin aisle) everyday.  Helps with the nails and keeps the hair in place.  It can turn gray all it wants to - I just don't want it to turn lose!!!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Thanks, Don!! I've missed you and your cute signature. Just LOVE that 😜👍and thanks for the continued encouragement and support. You're a honey, but I won't tell anyone. Might ruin your reputation, you think?!? DEFINITELY trying to hold onto the hair. I guess it's a small price to pay for all the be fits that come from losing weight.

Hope you're having a good Sunday. Stay cool.

Siggy and I are here everyday.  Staying cool as I can.  Did some yard work before cleaning up and going on a coffee run.  Been sucking in the AC since I got home.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Don,

I'm ALWAYS happy to see you AND Siggy!!!  Glad you're taking advantage of the AC. I cleaned outside yards, garage AND attic today. It was hot as HELL. Up in that attic!! I thought I was surely going to have heat stroke. 😰😱😖 Luckily, I survived. 😃 and now have a wonderfully clean garage, front and back yards, porches AND attic. My AC felt SO GOOD when I came in about 6 tonight.

Hugs, Sweet Friend...............Susie 😉

Susie....CONGRATS on your awesome job!!!   As for the biotin....it did NOT help me.    It's just something that most of us go through the hair loss that is and I have heard of truly nothing that will help stop it....just has to run it's course so to speak.    As for the "bad eating days"....we all have them so don't let that make you feel like a failure.   Sometimes "life" just gets in the way.   I am very proud of you for all you've accomplished in such a short time.    Keep up the amazing work.

Susie...that is OK.  Hope you had a good birthday that monday.     We can meet anytime you come in town.   Just let me know.   Pray for my son Shawn.   One of the ladies who was in Teen Challenge with him got out...and I guess got back on drugs.    She died of a heron overdose this week and her funeral is going to be on friday.   Pray for Amber's family please she was only 23 or 24 and had 2 small children.

Right after rehab is potentially the most dangerous time for a heroine addict.  Their tolerances go way, way town during rehab but they crave it at their former use level.  If they relapse after getting out and take the same amount that they used to then it is too much.

Yes I know.   So very sad.    She had been clean for probably at least over a year.   Not sure how long she had been using again. I had only met her once but my son was in Teen Challenge in San Antonio with her.    I hurt for what her family and loved one's are going through.   As a parent of a former addict.....that is one of your fears to find out that they overdosed.   Such a waste.
