This is going to sound bad, but I am glad yesterday is over. I did not have a good father and seeing all of the posts on FB about fathers (in particular missing fathers) just upset me. I know he did the best he knew how, but there is still a lot of pain.
That said - going to take the kiddo who is home for the summer to the bank today so that he can deposit his paycheck and pay his bills at his apartment back at campus. And then go to a meeting about the water situation in our subdivision. we have the honor of being the first subdivision in Texas to have their well run dry!

Good Afternoon TMB Family,
Although I am having a VERY TRYING DAY !!! Prayers going out for you Anne. I know that there has to be LOTS out there with unpleasant memories of their fathers. I know you CAN'T be the only one. I may be passing through Austin going to San Antonio in the next few days myself. Happy Anniversary Alissa and Bryan !!! Please everyone keep my in your prayers. I've got LOTS going on in my life right now. My middle son has been out of Teen Challenge and home for almost a month now. We STILL have no answers about his health issues. He is still experiencing some of them too. Teen Challenge told him a little bit ago that if he goes back now....instead of having less than 2 months till he graduates...he will have to do 4 almost 5. And if he doesn't return by wednesday he will have to re-do ALL 12 months. He really doesn't want to be there for 12 months. In other words he doesn't want to go back. With the mold issues there and not knowing exactly what has caused some of these issues ( black mold could have caused one of them...the heart ) I am uncertain what he should do but at that age of 26 it doesn't really matter what I say anyway. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we try to come to a resolution on this matter. He is STILL drug free and doing really good here....but as a Momma.....I want him to finish what he started but that is me not him. Thanks and hope ya'll are having a good day !!!

Are there any faith based sober living homes around ya'll? If so, he might want to check out those. I am hoping he has already found NA/AA meetings to go to and is working on finding a sponser.
I can understand his not wanting to do another year. It is time for him to be out in the real world and practice the skills he has learned. Rehab is wonderful and I appreciate it and send people to it all the time, but the reality is that what comes after rehab is what directs an addict's life!

He is going to go to Celebrate Recovery and there is a church in Irving that has a program too. He doesn't need a live in rehab anymore ( that's what he says ). WIth no job and no insurance you are really limited on what you can do. We've been waiting for about a month to hear from our county hospital to get his heart/ kidney issues addressed. Our pastor also said that he would work with him on these issues. I really think he is OK but then as a Mom there are those fears. I just have to put my faith in God and in him if he chooses not to return to San Antonio and complete the program. There are others who didn't complete the program that are drug free. IDK the answers I wish i did. All I can do is pray for him and his decision.

Good afternoon. Jumping on late! Work work work! Called Dr this am and still waiting for call, think my ulcer is back so have gone on soft foods, carafate and Nexium. Need a refill on the meds and hopefully that is all it is! Off three days this week so going to Hawaian Falls with neice and grandgirls on Thurs. Anybody been there?? Here it is family oriented and fun. Ken is even going to help me herd the girls!!
