Dr. Hugh Babineau in Tyler TX
If I had done a little more homework and found out about him before I had my RNY done at Baylor in Dallas with Dr. Kuhn I would have seriously considered using him. Closer to the house and easier on the bottom line. He did my ex-wife's RNY over three years ago.
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
I know this post is a bit old but here's the good, bad and ugly. My husband used him as his dr and I started out with him but due to insurance changes had to switch. He's a very good dr and knows what he's doing. Here's the big but....You will only ever see him on your very first consultation visit...that's it....you won't even see him in the hospital. I used Dr Charles Beall and he and his staff are wonderful. I see him, his nurse, and the nut every single time I go in there. They have your different stages of food after surgery all mapped out for you unlike Babineau's office who basically just tell you to do regular liquids for two weeks afterward and then basically you are on your own from there. My husband got sick a lot after his two weeks because he didn't have any boundaries. He has often said that he wished he had used my dr....I wish he would have too. We are checking soon to see if they can take care of his aftercare since he won't ever see Babineau anyway. I don't mean to bad mouth Babineau because he is great at what he does I just don't like the way they handle their patients. Ohhhhh and plus my husband paid for him to take his galbladder out during the surgery but he couldn't take it out which was fine but then they sent us a check for the difference and it took a while to get to us so he called and they mailed another one. We ended up getting both of them on the same day and took one back up there and to this day (over a year later) we keep getting bills for it even though they have supposedly "fixed" it in their system.
