Morning guys. I slept in yesterday since I was off. I went to the doctor yesterday because my back was hurting so bad and spasming. I got a anti-inflammatory shot- Tordol and something else- and its much better today thankfully. Now I get to drive to Austin. I'm meeting 1 coworker at the Starbucks on 35 and Western Center at 7am to get him and then picking up another coworker at the office. We will be back Friday afternoon. Its our quarterly EAS meeting but first today and tomorrow morning is train the trainer so all of our assistive technology trainers will be there as well. I'm hoping to go shopping one night, maybe get a pedi. There is a Maggianos Little Italy at the shopping center I like (the Dominion) and I love their food. I'd never been to one until the last time I was in Austin, since we don't have one in FW and was so yummy.

Well better get moving. Have a great day everyone!!!

Hi, Alissa, and everyone here.  Hope y'all don't mind if I jump in.

I'm kind of spinning my wheels here today.  I've really been obsessed with my WLS journey - my consultation is sheduled for next Tuesday - but I've got to change gears now, because I have friends from Minneapolis and Rosenberg coming on Thursday, and need to prepare.  We're spending five days at a Port Aransas condo, planning on a lot of balcony-sitting, watching the waves, and gabbing.  My Minnesota friend is beyond-the-moon, getting away from her freezing temps to our relative warmth!

Anyhow. . . Alissa, I noticed in your post that you said you were going to Austin, and you mentioned assistive technology trainers.  I don't want to be nosy (especially since you don't really know me from Adam), but, I was wondering if you work with people who are blind/visually impaired?  I am a former employee of what used to be Texas Commission for the Blind.  I know it has a new name, but it's so long and cumbersome I can never remember it!  I still have friends who work there, so was just curious.  I left the agency i***** when my son was born, and have missed my job ever since!

Well, I need to get busy and get ready for my "trip", all the way across the Kennedy Causeway, LOL!  Hope you all have a great day!

BETH..sitting on a balcony..listening to the crashing of the waves..sigh..co;or me GREEN..that is my idea of the PERFECT day!!

I'll answer for ALISSA, in case she doesn't see this. Yes, she works for the state, for the Comssion for the Blind-or whatever the formal name is. She's a Social Worker, and works with job placement for her clients. Her job is much more involved than I make it SOUND-and way more IMPORTANT..lol..we are very proud of her!!

Good Morning Alissa and TMB Family,

WOW where is everyone.    Guess everyone is busy.    Have a safe trip to Austin and so glad your back is much better today.    I have NO plans today so far.   I need to do some much needed cleaning in my house but I really don't want to do that.   LOL   I may do it anyway.     I had a great trip this past weekend to SA.     Did a little hour tour of our state capital also and it was fun.   I always love going there.     Wish I could have been in Austin on sat. AM and attended Nina's meeting.   Maybe I can possibly meet up with her on one of my trips going through Austin.    Prayers for safe travels for you and your co workers today Alissa and prayers for Saundra's Dad as he has a procedure done today.     Have a great day everyone  !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~~ Vivian

Good morning, my TMB family! "twas a rushed morning at my Ponderosa, and didn't get a chance to post..now it's 10:25, and I am determined to take a quick break...

I'm still lurching around, thanks to whatever I did to my poor right knee Sat night..sux to get old..may break down and go see doc..but probably not..my doc comes to our office, for a meeting tomorrow so may drag him off in the bathroom, and pull my pants down..then he'll quit his job...maybe I'll rethink my plans...sigh...

My fave tee shirt, currently, is the one my boss got me for Christmas. It's also my current avatar on our work phones. it says:

"Let me drop everything and work on YOUR problem"..apparently I say that alot (who? me?)

I am the "go to" person here-which requires nerves of steel-and lots of patience--one out of two ain't bad...

I want a new shirt, though, with the slogan our billing clerk hung on my bulletin board yesterday:

"Lack of planning on YOUR part does not constitute an emergency on MY part"  ...... love that

Okay...need to go potty..get more coffee..and get back to multi-tasking..and solving everyone's problems/emergency!

LOVE Y'ALL!

Gina I have that tshirt that says let me drop everything - ask Liz as she's seen my wear it. Got it at WM. too funny.

In Austin now -about to get lunch.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!

I'm at work today - imagine that - but the doc said I could !!

All is going well - but my non-surgical knee hurts worse than the other
I woke up at 230am this morning with excruitiating pain in my knifed knee - don't now what was up with that - except that I did start the home excercises that they gave me last night -  I did 15 min or so on the stationary bike -  hard to get a complete circular motion still but I made a few rounds and the only thing I can think of is that I "shocked" my knee into doing something !! lol

All is better today - doc  says to go back to "normal" activiities as soon as possible - so I am.

thank you all for your prayers and thoughts !! They were felt and very much appreciated....

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.
