5 yr anniversary coming up

I almost forgot, my 5 year surgiversary is coming up, March 13th. Yay! still no regrets although I do still struggle with weird diet issues due to the gastric bypass, I guess. The almost constant gas and rotating constipation/diarrhea keep my jumping at times. I still have very little capacity for food at one sitting, which I'm thankful for every day, with is what keeps me from eating enough to feed a small 3rd world country when stressed. I still get compliments from people who haven't seen me in years, and I still get a thrill out of buying clothes in the Misses dept! So in the long run, all is good!

Happy surgiversary soon. It does get ARD to fight the food as you get farther out from surgery, but it's worth it!

Which part of fighting the food are you talking about? The gas and digestive issues or the weight gain? Since I have both, I'm just wondering if anybody can help with the first part, the gain will go away, I'm sure with fewer calories and more exercise, but this gas, constipation and diarrhea are killers! Very embarrassing to be in an important group, aa company dinner, or the worst was 3 weeks on jury duty! Imagine being stuck in a jury box or jury room for hours on end and weeks in a row! Nothing seems to help.

Oh honey I do understand. I will be 5 yrs out in July and have horrendous gas problems and I work at Neiman Marcus in sales!! This will be graphic but here are some ideas. Poop stinks even worse now after the surgery so I use a product called poo pourri. You spritz it in the commode before you "go" and it eliminates the odor. I also carry a purse size Febreese in my purse or pocket for extra gaseous days. Keep track of what you eat and watch for particular foods that make it worse. For example  I have had to cut back on splenda and try not to do too much. Broccoli, tuna, Fiber One Bars ( we call them fart bars), and sugar free candies are real gass producers!! Hence, hubby gave me a shirt on which, in old greek letters, is written FARTICUS!!!! Remember, People may be able to call us Sir or Princess Far a lot, but we are healthier in mind body and soul and we can overcome gas too!!! If I find another product hat works I will share it here!

I only had to buy the fiber one bars once to know I wasn't buying them again.  Also I use to eat the SF chocolates after surgery but now I can't.

Splenda!! How do I get along without that? Almost all of the foods on that list posted by Meggie are still in my diet except for brocolli, I dropped that one right away, but I'll have to go through my pantry and clean out some stuff, Thanks for the advice!
