We all need to get some form of exercise in several days a week.

How are you working it?

Yesterday I started Couch to 5 K.

Today I'm walking and doing stairs at work for 20 minutes at the least.

 Good Morning Karla,

I have a eliptical and try to walk on it everyday but sometimes that just doesn't happen.   I too amd trying to to the couch to 5K.   I have NEVER jogged before and I am trying to learn.  LOL  I have only gone once and jogged/walked since my son was home with mono.   He is going back to Teen Challenge today so if the weather will cooperate with me maybe I can be successful at this thing or maybe not.   BUT I will give it my all.    I need to go back to the gym and do exercise classes.   Have a blessed day and great post !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Good morning,

I never got into a regular habit of exercising and really need too.  I was thinking over the weekend that I need to start back up doing something.  So today I plan to either watk or excerise to my DVD.

Doc told me as long as I did 10,000 steps a day i could count it as exercise so it is back to wearing the pedometer. Also, with all the packing, lifting and moving of Moms possesions and my general routine of stock work and cleaning at work I get my strength training. I am also packing and moving to storage many of our possesionsin order to get ready for moving to our new home...we are still looking!

Two mile walks 3-4 times a weeks time and weather permitting.

Need to get the dust off the weights sitting behind the couch and start pumping iron again.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

OIY -  this is a bad topic for me...........I'm so terrible about this -  never got into habit during my "honeymoon" period and well.............lets just say - I REALLY NEED TO GET MY BUTT MOVING...

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

I always exercised sporatically between walking and using my exercise bike but was never "dedicated".  Kinda like, I always dieted sporatically- same concept.  I personally DO NOT like to exercise but wish I did.  I did the 5K in the 2011 Houston Chevron Marathon and some of my coworkers gave me so much grief about being lazy and doing the 5k instead of the 1/2 marathon, so I decided to train for the half in 2012.  I started jogging/walking 3 miles everyday in April 2011.  By Sept 2011, I was walking/running 3 miles a day on the treadmill and doing 4-6 miles on Sat/Sun at the park.  In November, I cut it down to six days a week and in December, I started doing 4 miles(2 walk/ 2 run) every other day.  Now that the marathon is over, I will continue to do the same as in December.

This being said.... If I can DO IT, ANYBODY CAN!
