Morning everyone!! OMG we shopped till we literally dropped this weekend. It seemed like our to do list was never ending. We did get to see Maggie for a few hours though so there is that. lol.

Chris is sick-which is rare. He has a cold and sore throat. He elected to not go shopping at all this weekend so I knew he was sick! He seemed to feel better by yesterday eve. However if he's still hacking when I get home, I might run him up to the after hours clinic. With his asthma, I can't have him sick for Christmas.

I have to work all week. With the state, we get the day before, the day of, and the day after for Christmas- so when it's on a Sunday, that means all I get off is Monday. Bryan is taking a few days this week so he's off on Wed.

Well, better get moving. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning, ALISSA and all! Where did our weekend go??

I did some retail therapy, with TRACEY and Baby Blake yesterday-just in Burleson shopping center-no inside crowded malls. Blake was soooooo good and tolerant. It's so fun to see things thru his eyes, and, no matter how busy/frustrated shoppers are, they always stop and coo when they smile Blake's big blue eyes or sweet smile-he's a heartbreaker (spoken like a smitten GiGi !!)...

Today's agenda includes a busy, busy workday. We will probably be busy all week, getting things closed out for the year, besides the regular stuff-plus holiday staff days off and 2 nurses being out for surgery...doesn't leave any room in the schedule for "wiggle room", and heaven knows we do LOTS of "wiggling" !! I like being "versatile", so I'm definently working in the right biz, and at the right place, where they let me spread my wings, and always make me feel appreciated...

Okay..better..sigh..better get started..need to watch the weather, news, etc, and see what's happening outside my lil cocoon before I go out and face the world...

LOVE Y'ALL---even on Mondays!!!

I offered to take the "on call" status for Christmas day.  Other than the Sgt who lives there in town, and has a houseful of kids, I'm the next closest to work.  The Chief and other two officers are at increasing distances and have young children or grandchildren to tend to that morning as well.

As for today it is work, weather permitting taking a walk and start wrapping presents.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Good morning. It's nice to have extra time off and not have to get up and go to work. When I retire and get a job doing something else, I'll miss this time off.

Today I just have some errands like getting Ben a haircut, going to AT and T and checking on International plans for our trp and mailing Ross Christmas gifts to him. He has to work during Christmas.

Hope everyone has a good day. I see a nap in my future this afternoon since I woke up at the crack of dawn.

Taking the time to post thismorning, need to hit grocery store and post office before heading for another busy day of work. Doc has finally gotten my mood swings back under contro;. Havent had a grief melt down in 4 days...that is a record! The hour long crying jags were emotionally and physically killing me. Just have Ken and Teenie left to buy for and the do deliveries on wednesdayand I am done!!! Christmas will be really hard without Mom...It was "our" holiday. But I will just take it one day at a time!. Found a grief counseling group that meets once a month that I will start in Jan. The retired Bishop who heads it was a good friend of Mom's so that will make it even more personal. enough for now!

Go out and make it a great day or just fake it!

I've often likened grief to the ocean- waves of grief will come over you at times and at others its calm. Enjoy the calm times and remember that even when its rough, it will calm down again. I'm so glad you're going to a grief group. I think counseling and groups are really important in your grief recovery. What plans do you have for Christmas?

Good Morning Texas!  Is it bad I'm ready for 2012 already, LOL, slow down life.

I have 3 vacation days left that I use or lose so I'm taking today and Wednesday off this week and one day next week.

Let's see update on what's going on.  I'm an AUNT and GODMOTHER again.  AIDEN JAMES was born Saturday morning by c-section.  I got to go in the delivery room, and I didn't pass out, LOL.  There was a delivery complication, he aspirated meconium and had to be transferred to NICU at another hospital.  They have him on a respirator and vent right now, and put an NG tube in yesterday so Mom got to feed him last night.  Her doc released her yesterday to go to the other hospital and she has a hospitality room to be there with him.  The neonatalogist is happy with the progress so far and thinks AIDEN will be able to come home before Christmas.  Please keep baby AIDEN in your prayers.

Work has been super busy I got more responsibilities and I'm suppose to get a raise which I will push for this week, I'm not doing this without more pay.  I haven't been able to take a lunch period the past two weeks (I eat at my desk) with so much to do.  It's a cluster to say the least, thankfully management realizes how bad it is and it's going to take time to rectify the disaster.

My boys are off for 2 weeks, will spend most of next week with their Dad so Mom will have some free time to decompress after work and hopefully I'll find some time to have fun.

As for eating, yikes I haven't been eating right and the scale is up a few lbs which I'm ok with but need to reign in my eating (read sugar/carbs) before I find myself all-out-of-control.

Ok need to run have to go to the hospital today and clean this house, looks like a hurricane passed through this weekend.

Have a great day everyone!
