Morning all! Finally back home- woo hoo. So Christmas is right around the corner- are you done shopping yet?

I'm pretty much done shopping and have everything wrapped. The only thing we haven't gotten is Chris's gift. He wants a video recorder- one of those flip ones.
I thought I wanted a sleep number bed, but after 2 nights in a hotel with one, I know now I don't want one. I was so uncomfortable. It sagged. Then again, it could have been old.
Time to get the day started. Have a great day everyone!

Still have a wee bit of shopping to do but can be handled easily enough.

Get a Tempur Pedic bed!  I have had mine for little over a month and can feel the difference in my back! Mine is a king sized flat version.  They call it "firm" but it is actually one or two steps in softness down from solid concrete.  I've noticed less back pain and fewer trips to the loo during the night.  Set me back a few bucks but IMHO money well spent!

Got to work today to help pay off the bed.

Good morning. Looking forward to getting the last couple of days of work. We get off a cople of hours early tomorrow. It's a jeans and Christmas shirt day, so that is good.

Ben is at home and has had cooking assignments each day. Today is TX trash day. He is even making a batch of gluten free for my niece to eat.

Karla-Corbin learned to make Tx trash last year-kind of his OWN recipe-his is much better than mine-I didn't dare ask WHAT was in it..lol

I am pretty much for the most part through Christmas shopping too.   It's going to be slim around my house too.    I probably won't get anything for Christmas either but hey....that's Ok.   I really don't need anything.   I baked a batch of Christmas cookies last night and froze them so they would still be here by Christmas.   I have a well woman check up this morning and I am NOT looking forward to that.    Then I am putting my car and my youngest son's vehicle in the shop to get the hail damage from the spring repaired.     We have to do that on a break from college.   I know when I go to a store I am going to have to stay away from the baby dept.    LOL   I have already bought 2 sleepers and 2 baby toys.   The sleepers can go either way...boy or girl.    Have a blessed day everyone and try to stay dry and drive safely.

I still have a little bit of shopping left will probably end up getting them gift cards.  

Today will be heading home from Shreveport with less Christmas shopping money.  We went to dinner at the steak house here in the casino last night at it was delicious, over priced but delicious. Going to hate to leave this nice suite we have.

When we get back home I am making up gift bags for DH guys at work so I have got lost of cookies and brownies to bake.  I am taking the easy way out and got ready to bake cookies and brownie muffins.

Good morning, ALYSSA and all! Chris was doing schoolwork, on the laptop this morning, at home, and somehow THAT took priority over Mama boarding the train and checking FB..WTH???...So, now amd at work..thiking about starting a long, busy day...

Christmas is quite "scaled back" this year, gift wise..and I feel okay about it. My sibs and I have always drawn names, and do our Kids (as cousins), with each other, and now our kids are big enough to buy their "cousin gifts" themselves. We all buy for the little kids, which I've already done. I got them personalized sling backpacks-which I got back in August-and costumes, to play dress up in-that I got at Cracker Barrel-post Halloween-at 70% off. Richard and I got each "necessary gifts" this past weekend-new washer/dryer. Not real sexy-but what we wanted/needed. I still need something to put in baby Blake's backpack, and somehing to put Chris and Corbin's cash in. Crap-just remembered-haven't gotten my mom anything yet either... Christmas was more fun when it was Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles!!

Having Christmas dinner party with special book club ladies tonight-going straight from work, so am looking a bit more "festive" than usual today. had dinner, last night, with 2 old friends I've known since our kids were all little-the kind of friends you not see for years-and just pick up where you left off and start laughing..they'll never never UNDERSTAND me like Y'ALL do, but they are supportive and loving, nonetheless...

Crap..time for morning conference call...off to the salt mines..

I second the suggestion for the tempur-pedic.  We've had ours a good 4 years or so? maybe longer, and I still love it. It sleeps a little warmer than a standard mattress so that'll take some getting used to should you decide to get one.
 

Hey You Guys!

I went to bed at 9 last night so I am feeling awesome today! That sleep thing is so NOT overrated! Blake fussed a few times through the night but did not "request" to come to my bed until 5 this morning so that was awesome too. At 4 this morning the dog decided to bark her fool head off right outside his bedroom window, I know this because I can hear it on the monitor. I heard the dog and then I heard him squirm a little bit and then go back to sleep. I think Dirk thought he heard Blake because the next thing I know he's in the kitchen putting a bottle together for a baby who's sound asleep. I motioned for him to come back to bed and he set the bottle on the table. I asked him why he left it there and he replied "because he'll drink it afterwhile". I was like- "It's milk dear, you can't just leave that stuff out". Poor guy- I think he was tired!

I am going this weekend to finish shopping. I know what three of the four kids are getting but I am at a loss for Chase. I have their smaller stuff bought except for their pj's. I have a groupon to old navy for $40 so sometime soon I'll go in there and finish the pjs list. Blake is taken care of unless I just find something he can't live without. I haven't asked for anything for Christmas, and I really don't know what I want. I usually just go buy whatever I want anyways so my list is never long. Mom and Dad got us a food sealer and all the bags to go with it. I'm excited about it. The next time I cook three months of food in a weekend to put in the freezer I am going to use it. 

We don't get a brea****il the 21st. We get off early at noon, so of coarse we are all counting the days! I'm ready!
