Any of our lab/vitamin gurus want to chime in on this?

http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny/4476927/Vitamin-D-convert-your-labs-units-or-you-will-overdose/

Basically, he's providing a conversion formula to figure out Vitamin D levels based on the units that the labs are using to present the results.

If I'm reading this right, my last labs were - 122.0 ng/mL with a range of 32-100, which using the coversion formula means my level is actually 305 nmol/L which is way too high.

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

I'll have to wait for DANA on this one. SHE is MY "go to guy" for any vitamin/lab questions.

DEBBI-in my experience, I ahve to question the validity of "reference" values though-what is "normal range". They tend to vary somehwat from lab to lab. Do you know if your bloodwork is always done at the same place?

I can't recall the exact "number" of my last D level right off, but  it was double the normal", and my PCP was pleased, due to our malabsorbtion, etc.

The neurologist said the said  the same thing about my B12 levels-they were double the normal-on paper-but he is having me triple my dose anyway
