My husband will be 7 years out from RNY in April.  He has had a few vitamin deficiencies before which we resolved and now having them again.  Thiamin, B12 and Iron.  Our primary didn't test for A or D like I asked and said he needed to see a specialist for those.  Do we see a Hematologist? What kind of Specialist do we see for all dificiencies?  Anyone have a recommendation of a specialist in Weatherford, Fort Worth area?

I'd start with a hematologist for iron anemia and they can tell you more on the B deficiencies and A and D if your PCP won't treat him.

What I suggest on the B-12, Thiamin Vitamin A and Vitamin D is to contact [email protected] for her insight.  You can buy Thiamin and B-12 anywhere, do you know your husbands numbers?  How much B-12 and Thiamin is he currently taking.

As for Vitamin A and Vitamin D, you want to take larger doses than a normal and it MUST be in Dry form - Vitamin D needs to be D-3.

Get copies of your husbands labs, if you have questions you can PM and I can give you my thoughts on the B-12, Thiamin, D and A.
