Prayers please for me and my family

Hello!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately I try to read as often as I can.

I'm asking for prayers, please.  We found out in August that my Dad has cancer.  He's going down very quickly.  Yesterday he got out of the hospital and is home now with hospice.  Treatment of any kind isn't an option, we can only keep him comfortable until God calls him home.

My sister and I have been given the duties of preparing for everything from hospice to burial plots to the funeral arrangements so we are trying to get this done now.  I'm really sad this is the first time we are dealing with an immediate family member dying.  My hope is that he doesn't suffer any more than he has to.

I really appreciate all of you here and miss everyone alot.

This year has been way overwhelming, I won't ask what next or why it's just the way it is but dang I'm ready for 2011 to end and hope 2012 is a better year for all of us.

Hugs,

I don't have many words ........sometimes the best things said are those left UNsaid !!

((((((((Huggs)))))))))))  thoughts and prayers !!  It is so tough losing a parent.

My mother passed away in Nov of 1996 and my dad lives in ND - I so regret the day that I get that call that my dad has passed although we haven't been "close" to each other for most of my adult life - he IS still my dad !!

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

Dana-my Cajun sis-big (((((HUGS))))--I'm so glad we got to talk, and hope I was able to answer some of your questions, at least a little. There is no "easy way" to do any of "the hard stuff" and you just have to follow your heart and do what you think YOUR DAD wants. Has he ever voiced his wishes? if so, then you and your family are just the "messengers". It takes much more COURAGE to follow out HIS wishes, than perhaps what YOURS might be. The human part of us never wants to let go of anyone-that's how God made us. You have my digits, and I love our "freeway talks". PLEASE don't hesitate to call me-EVER-good or bad.

This can be a time of joy and celebration, as well as a time of sadness. It can bring out the best in people, just as it can bring out the worst in them. People handle illness and grief in many different ways. Please remember even the strong, survivor types (i.e. YOU) need time to grieve/feel cheated/feel sorry for yourself/feel anger. Try to take time for YOU, and your feelings, while you are being the backbone for everyone else.

I love you, dearly, and wish I could be with you, physically, throughout this tough journey. PLEASE know I am here, as close as the phone/computer will allow

Hugs from far away Dana. That is so hard and stressful to go through. I've been there/done that with Ross dad several years ago. hang in there and remember he will be going on to something more awesome for him. It is hard to let go. Many prayers for you and your family.

Dana....HUGS being sent your way.   3 years ago today as a matter of fact our family lost my BIL and  then 22 yrs. ago I lost my Dad & almost 5 yrs. ago my Mom left us for Heaven also.    Trust me....I KNOW first hand what you are going through and my thoughts and prayers will definately come you way.    Cancer is a horrible disease.   I pray all the time that one of these days very soon they will find a cure for it.    Just take things one day at a time.    Remember to take care of yourself as you deal with the issues involved in one of your loved ones preparing to go "home",    My advice is PLEASE spend as much time as you can with your Dad and let him know how very much he means to you.    Prayers and hugs coming your way.   I pray that God will wrap his loving arms tightly around your Dad and touch his body so that he won't be in pain.   Love you and I am praying really hard for them.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CAN NOT CHANGE;   COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS THAT I CAN;  AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE !!!!    THIS IS MY DAILY PRAYER.

(((Dana and family))) I'm sending hugs and prayers of comfort your way. I pray for energy and peace for you and your sister as you make all the arrangements. I hope you all are able to spend as much time as you can with your father.
I wish I was closer to ease some of your burden. take care and remember to reach out to local friends and church family for assistance. The biggest blessing you can give people is the ability to help you out in a time of need. That was a hard lesson for me to learn but its true. Take care.
