I would like some help finding a doctor to help with weight loss in Houston area. I am not looking for surgery because #1 I don't have insurance and #2 I am afraid.

I am 6 foot tall and 410lbs, 42 years old and can't afford insurance. I am trying to find a doctor that can help with weight loss. My regular doctor is old and just yells at me and says it's easy to loose weight which really ****** me off. It's not easy to loose weight. A doctor should know that.

I am having trouble finding a doctor. Not sure if there is such a thing as a "Fat guy doctor", most are general practice and nurse always says they work with overweight people and .... can't find a decent doc.

Any help is appreciated.

I went throught Methodist Medical Weight Management Program and Dr. Peter Jones is the Director and an awesome person. I  have Dr.Robert Marvin on Holcombe in Houston just west of the Medical Center. They have a managed program and was also my surgeon for revision.  Also I just met Dr.Karla Vital Director of the SE Memorial Hospital Medical Weight Management and Wellness  off Beamer and Astoria off 45So. in Friendswood. Her website is vitalwellnesstoday.com. She seemed very knowlegeable and said they have nutrtion classes the 4th Wed of the month at Medical 1 Suite 200. I plan to check  it out  next month.I was scared to have surgery too but am much healthier since my RNY with very minimal changes to  my lifestyle.. There are also several support groups that can help you just PM me and I can give you help. Good Luck with your Journey.
