so i am kinda discouraged now.  i just weighed myself for the week and have now had -0- loss for the past two weeks now!  is this normal for RNY??  i just had the procedure 5-9-11 and have lost 50 slowly since then.  i just feel like i should be losing something every week....i mean heck, i hardly eat and have to force myself to get the calories & protein intake my nutritionist wants me too plus i'm forcing water down also.  i know my doctor had previously told me i should have lost way more than where i am now, but he fails to forget the 47lbs loss prior to surgery & the fact that i do weight/strength training for 2 hrs every other day.  ...i hate to say that it's got me down, but i am rather discouraged now about this.  has anyone gone through this also??

 Everyone hits plateaus now and again.   They can last various amounts of time.    Don't be discouraged.   You have done great with your WL.   I am going to PM you the Plateau Busters Diet.   Good luck to you on your journey.    Remember it is  usually when you plateau that you are losing inches.    Good luck to you.

Sit down and write out what exactly you are eating - drinking..

Just a thought :

What do you mean that you are "hardly eating" ?   WHAT and how often are you eating what you can?    Drink?   Protein Shakes - etc??? 

Change things up a little.   sounds like you are in a plateau but that could be that maybe you are NOT eating enuff....

You may not be getting enough protein and/or water in your daily  allowances.
DId I see that you just have this Surgery in May -  2011....you are still "tight" which is good...
but keep your daily log of what you are eating - it may be that the next time you see your nutritionist - they may see something that you are doing or NOT doing.

Slow is good..........you'll keep it off .....if you are doing strength training for 2 hours 3-4x a week - i'll almost bet that you are NOT getting enuff nutrients into your body and your body is probably in "starvation" mode cuz its afraid its not gonna get anything else - so its hanging on to everything you are taking in !!

  • Total Lost:  139 lbs
  • Current Weight:  263  
  • As of 11-10-13 I have had weight gain.  Not happy about that.

so apparently the scale says i gained 1 lb this past week!!!  WTH?!!?!  i could see if i had been at the gym hard this week, but that didn't happen due to a flea infestation in my apt & my apparently being allergic to flea bites. my feet, ankles & legs are so severely bit up; it's unreal.  my protein is up to 100 daily now.  when i say i barely eat, i eat between 1-2 oz at each meal; can't really get 3 oz down yet. 

the only thing i know that i have done different in these past 3 wks is start taking Bariatric Advantage Multi Formula Capsules (Multi-Vitamins), and that was 3 wks ago today.  i do notice my clothing baggier in areas though so that is a relief. 

vivian, thanks for the list; the foods on my list are basically the only things i get in. i will however, keep an extra mindful watch this week & make extra sure these are the only things i get in & see if this makes a difference.  i think i am just mostly in shock over this because i wasn't expecting a plateau so early on.
