H Morning Don and TMB,

I have been up since 2 AM not sure why?   I am leaving tomorrow AM for OH Conference in New Orleans.    Hope the hurricane that is coming stays away from there.   I am asking for prayer for a friend from high school.  He desperately needs them !!!   I have a WOO HOO for my middle son.   His weight is up from 119 ( a month ago ) to 151.5.    That is a GOOD thing !!!   I have a busy day that could be the reason for my waking so early with brain thinking of all I have to do.   LOL   Have a blessed day everyone and remember to stay hydrated !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CAN NOT CHANGE;   COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS THAT I CAN;  AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE !!!!    THIS IS MY DAILY PRAYER.

Good morning,

Safe travels to those heading to NOLA.  Hope you all have a blast.

Of course work is on the agenda today, which I am thankful as my co-worker was packaged last week.  Plan to meet my sister for lunch today so have an excuse to get out of the house.

Have a great day!

 Hey TMB

You know that saying "Some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you,"?  (or whatever derrivitive you can find).  Well...we are certainly having a 'bear eat you' time right now.  We figured out what was 'wrong' with the van...and that would be someone has been using us as their personal gas pump...they siphoned off 2 full tanks of gas (and we have a 40 gallon tank) before we realized that's what it was.  So good news...it appears a $12 investment in a locking gas cap has solved the problem...or at least deterred it.

The down side is...Clint's contract was ended early ...again!  His headhunting firm is pissed because just last week his recruiter took him out to lunch.  He asked what the status was and they had confirmation it would be at least another 30 to 45 days before they even had word if they'd be letting him go.  Behold...4 working days later and they all got blindsided.  So his agency is busting their butts to get him hired out again.  He's already had a phone interview and will hopefully  have 2 more before the weekend but this is just NOT the stress we wanted.

*sigh*  Everything works for the best...I know that.  It is just sometimes really hard to stay positive.

I hope everyone is doing well and if you are headed to NOLA have a safe trip.  Come back with lots of pictures and stories so I can be jealous.

Trying to get my butt back on the express.

Went to NOLA over Labor Day weekend. Had a great time! Tropical Depression Lee is long gone and ya'll going this weekend should have a great time.
Driving home Monday night - cell phone rings - our neighbor across from the house we just put on the market 2 wks ago after spending over $5,000 to get in shape. "Anne - we have 30 minutes to evacuate - is there anything in your house you want me to grab?" Told him not to worry about me, but spent the rest of the drive home wondering if our house would burn down.
Finally got into to see it yesterday after getting wrist bands and car tags from the Sheriff. In our neighborhood of 50 houses - 26 are gone - totally destroyed. For some reason - God spared the 5 on the block of the street we own the house on. The entire area looks like a war zone.
It reminded me of how powerful Mother Nature is and my butt is headed back to church. Going today to drop off supplies for the people in the development who did not have insurance.
Take care all. (And I am trying to remember to eat - not necessarily right - but just eat something. Have been drinking at least 1 Ensure a day....)

Glad to know you are okay and your house was not damaged.  Ever hear from Nurse Sharyn anymore?  She was from that part of the State and I thought of her when I heard about the Bastrop fire.  See ya Sunday.
