FRIDAY GRATEFUL POST

  Good Friday Morning Everyone,

Well.....the weekend is almost here.    Hope everyone has lots of great plans for the next few days.   I have a support breakfast in the morning.   I am always excited to go to that and see my friends.   As we ALL know.....we all have so very much in our lives to be grateful for....no matter how large or small.   We have NO guarantees that come with us when we are born to have a perfect life.   We are the one's responsible for making that happen.   PLEASE feel free to share with us a couple of things or however much that you want what you are grateful for today in your life.    Today I am grateful for....My WLS, this body that the good Lord blessed me with even though it is far from perfect and I complain about my midsection all the time.....it is 100% better than it was before my WLS.   Grateful for my life and health, family and friends,   my Faith and answered prayers.    Grateful for my friends who step on my toes when they need to be stepped on and put me in my place.   Although I don't like it at the time....I do need it at times.    For support groups and all the knowledge gained at them and the encouragement of course.     For Obesity Help and all the wonderful people I have met both online and at the OH Conferences  ( which there is one in Sept 9-10 in New Orleans, La. that I will be attending ).   For all the different message boards here and all the wonderful people who give support there daily.    Have a blessed weekend and day.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Today i am grateful for the time to get my house cleaned one chore and room at a time, with the ability to be able to rest and chill out in between chores! I'm also grateful for the 1.25 inches of rain we got this week.

For today..

I am grateful..

For my firstborn, Corbin (AKA K-Mart)...I'll use him today, although his birthday is not until Sunday, since I often don't get a chance to post on the weekends...I did not have Corbin until relatively "late in life"-I was almost 32 (SEEMED old THEN!!)..he was special then, and remains so now..He is a gentle, nurturing soul...good with babies up thru old people...I fought many a battle, with/along side educators, doctors, etc with Corbin's ADHD issues (running acroos the front of the church, across the preacher's toes during a sermon..yea..good times...)...chasing him across parking lots, while he was fast as the wind and I was 300+ lbs...Can't say I'm sorry THOSE days are over..NOW we run TOGETHER...He inspires me in SO many ways..He loves doing things together, including 5Ks, 10Ks, etc. We are currently training for our 2nd half marathon together. I pray he finds a good wife, who can love him even half as much as his mama does, and appreciate him for the person he is, inside.

Gina...you are SO lucky to have Corbin as I am my Caleb.   BTW.....I was 37 when he was born.    He is (in Oct.) going to be 21.   Guess that makes me old huh?   Happy birthday early to Corbin.

VIV-being an "older mom" wasn't all bad. I was 34 when I had Chris. I was nearly always the "oldest mom" at school events, peewee football, etc. I was Chris's football team's "team mom" from K-6th grade. Being "older" meant I automatically got to be "bossy", I guess, and nobody questioned it-not the coaches-not even the referees..lol--and especially not the kids. I was a MUCH better mother at 32/34 than I ever would have been at 17 (NOT to say that SOME 17 yr old can't be GREAT moms-but I would NOT have been one of them).

LOL.....yeah....know first hand it wasn't that bad and I agree 100 % with what you said.   In fact some of the "younger mom's" would sometimes ask for advice since Caleb was my third son (but 1st pregnancy).   The only downfall was when someone would come up to me and say...My what a cute grandson you have !!!  Then I would reply that I wasn't OLD ENOUGH to be a grandma...when in reality....I was !!!   LOL  Almost 21 yrs. later my only grandchildren come with 4 legs.   LOL  Have a wonderful weekend.
