Advice for eating while traveling internationally?
Congrats on your upcoming trip!
Take all you can...in fact personally I would take enough that I would not have to count on eating locally. I even pack things like cans of tuna and chicken and such.
Also, do some research before you leave. Learn the words you need to convey information or gt information on food you may order. Maybe find some places to eat that have english menus in the area of your hotels. Also, if you have any friends here from china, talk with them and get their guidance.
My daughter "loves" chinese food, however once she got to china this summer, she quickly discovered that what she likes is the American version not actual chineese food. She ate very little for 2 weeks while traveling and came home sick from lack of nutrition - apparently many on her tour had this issue. She went with a school group of about 80 college students. (now I know why tuition is so freaking high...this was "included" in her tuition!)

One thing that will help you with your vitamins (not sure if someone mentioned it or not) but put you vitamins in "daily baggies" and label them so you know you are on the right day and you know if you missed any by chance. This may help you even when you get home if you take them throughout the day as well.
ENJOY your trip!!!

Thanks for these additional tips!! Yes, I will take baggies to put my daily meds & vitamins in, and I'll try to make sure my daughter is eating something besides rice and noodles! We'll be with a tour group with English speaking guides the whole time so we'll have help with the menus and ordering.
