Old Member but new to TX...
Hi, I would like to introduce myself. I am Lisa Swift. I am new to West Texas, and am looking for a support forum in my area.
I was on the Virginia Forum a while back.
I am now in need of some sturdy support as I have gained weight after my June 08 vertical sleeve surgery. I had been firmly set at the same weight for over a year, no loss or gain, having only lost the initial 60 lbs. I have since gained back 10 lbs. I really need some advice on how to get back into the groove of things, food choices, tricks to trigger weight loss, anything you can think of. Maybe some websites with helpful information for the wagon jumpers, looking to get back on.
I am in Andrews. Anyone near me can message me and let me know you are out there. I am always on the lookout for new friends! Is Mexican food even an option for us?
Thank you in advance for any response to my plea. Lisa

Hi Lisa, I'm also a Lisa living in North Texas. I'm 4 years out from RNY and struggling a little with a 5 lb. gain and working hard to keep it from growing. Best advise I can give you is to track what you're eating, watching calorie intake and keep up or ramp up physical exercise.
I work out twice a week with a trainer and try to get cardio in between. Frankly, I need to be doing more, but it's hard especially with long work hours.
Good luck as I know how hard it is.

Hi Lisa. Welcome to the TX oh board. I don't know of many active here from West TX but maybe someone will chime in. The wt regain is hard to avoid, but can be with hard work. I regained 35 lbs and have taken off almost 30 of that and have more to lose. It can be done with strict eating and exercise.
Hope to see you on here. We have a daily eating accountability post that Paige usually cranks up. It's a good place to start.

Thank you ladies,
I think I am back on track. I recently had a knee replacement, so cardio might be a problem. I am drinking water like nobodys business. I am waiting the required 30 minutes before meals and after. I am taking my vitamins, and Upcal. I have given up on my diet soda. I am counting sugar grams as well as protein. I hope this jumpstarts my weightloss. Considering I was paying no attention for so long, I think it should. I will post if it is working. I managed to squeeze 29 gms of protein for lunch today. Tuna, and cheese on lettuce with a tiny bit of raspberry vinegrette. It tastes good, but a strange mixture I know. Anyhoo, you all have a great day, and I am going to try to do the same.

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.
