I wish I had the authority to "sticky" this post here , because its one of the best "causes" I can think of (breast cancer research), and a reason for continued EXERCISE. I'm going to continue to try to find us some local events every month or two. The March event was March 12th, of course, in Greenville, so it turned out perfectly that April happened to be in Ft. Worth. This is the same annual race that is usual held in downtown Ft Worth-they have moved it to the Ridgmar Mall area now-better parking/route/etc. I encourage you to sign up to be "timed"-it encourages you to train harder and improve your PB (personal best)-click "competetive" on the registration part. I did not sign up as a team, as I did not want anyone to this for me. Do it for YOU, and for THE CAUSE. Corbin and I are honoring my mom, Hazel Jones, a breast cancer survivor. My sister, Donna, and Niece, Jaclyn, have already signed up to walk with us.
My mom. the cancer beater, Hazel Jones

We Can Do Hard Things
JODIE-no-I've done the 5K every year. The "goal" is WANTED, of course, but not REQUIRED. I've never paid more than the reg fee. For the 3 day, however, the $2000, or whatever, IS required. If you can't raise you either pay it, or don't walk. It kept me from signing up last year cuz I was afraid I couldn't raise that much money.
That's one of the reasons why I support and encourage the 5K as much as I can-I know every "little" bit helps, and few of us could afford the 3 day walk. I hope you and King will consider joining us (IF he has a PINK pimp hat, of course--can't be my pace man without a pimp hat-just wouldn't work!!)

I was diving off into the Greater Ft. Worth Susan G Komen website last night and when looking at the FAQ's it kept mentioning the fundraising part of $100 and on the registration it had a place to put your goal for fundraising.
I also ran across the info on The Juggernaut. That looks like F-U-N!! But then again, I don't mind getting all muddy and stuff. Might have to check that one out too. I think it is May 14 at Lake Grapevine @ Trophy Club Park.
King doesn't have a pink pimp hat, but he's got a purple one!!
I'll get us registered soon. He had such a good time Saturday he's seriously on a training mission to get ready for the White Rock Half in December. I said I wasn't going to do it again this year, but looks like he might be changing my plans as usual. LOL
