I had my surgery 25 January 2006 at 230 lbs.  October 2006 I went to Kuwait to work with my husband and weight was 139.  I have had breast reduction and tummy tuck......We came home Feb 2009 and 6 weeks later my husband died of massive heart attack.  The last two years I have not cared about anything and slowly weight has come back.  I am now around 160 - 164.  My eating habits has gone bad and exercise (what is that).  Now I need to get my act back together and lose these 20 lbs.   Wow 20 pounds is better than 100 lbs :)  I haven't been on this site since around 2007.  fast forward to now......I am a college student at 55 years old, and work study at the college.  I leave my house at 7 am with 1st class at 7:30 am and work at noon till five.  So I need ideas for easy breakfast to eat on way to college (25 miles) and something easy to heat up for lunch.....dinner usually to tired to cook.  I welcome all ideas....thanks everyone

Exercise is coming around....my daughter had foot surgery and we decided this weekend that we are going to walk.  Also have the Zumba disc plus also on Wii so we will see.  In Kuwait it stayed off because 90% was walking on the camp.

Claudia, so sorry to hear about all that has happened these past couple of years. Unfortunately, the weight regain has happened to a lot of folks after losing and then quitting exercise and watching what we eat like we did the first 2-3 years out. People assume it will never happen to them. I've certainly had to learn if you don't continue to exercise and be careful about what you eat it will come creeping back on and you have to take it off all over again. At least we have our tool to help. I'm part of a private regain board called "The Weight Is Over" that is for people who have put some weight back on. We are required to post weight each week and participate on the board several times each week. It has been the key to my success. Keep up posting. We have a daily accountability post on the TX board called Daily Plate. It helps keep you on track and honest. Hope to see you there each day. I have taken off 18 lbs. since early Oct. a couple of lbs. a week. Go for it! Congrats on going back to school.

For food ideas see what others have on Daily Plate and go to worldaccordingtoeggface.com and if you have facebook "pouch party" has ideas also. bariatriceating.com has recipes on it's website. Track what you eat and it will help a lot and cook and freeze in 1 c containers so you can grab and go on weekdays.

Congratulations on you taking control of things. That is a big step. Planning is very important. If you don't, you will end up eating out, which is usully bad, and eating too much or the wrong things. I like cottege cheese with sf jello powder, fruit, nuts, and sf cool whip. I also like Plain Greek yogurt with sf jello powder or drink mix powder, and a baggie of nuts and seeds and protien cereal to mix in as I eat it. Ostrim meat sticks are good to carry around for snacks. I pack cheese and meat cubes, boiled eggs. I like Plain Greek Yogart and sf pudding powder mixed with a beater. It is like no bake cheesecake, but good for you. I eat that with nuts and fruit. Protien powder mixed into milk or milk substitute added to decaf coffee is good for the morning car ride. I often do a protien drink in the blender with frozen fruit or ice and plain Greek yogart for dinner. I've made Dixie Diner brand low carb muffins and added protien powder and flax seed, which are good to pack.  I also made bannana bread with Carbquick lowcarb mix, a little wheat flour, ground flax seed, artifical brown sugar, bannanas, no sugar added applesauce, and homemade trail mix of a little fruit and lots of nuts and seeds. I don't know proportions, and I would have added protien powder but my son begged me not to. I spread that no bake yogurt cheesecake on it and it was great. I recently discovered shirataki (sp?) noodles also called miricle noodles. They are nutritionally neutral, basicly just fiber that will go through you, but they are quick and easy and a substitute for pasta.  In addition to planning and packing meals, find a support group if you don't already have one. My support group is my lifeline that keeps me on track and holds my chin up when I can't do it myself. I think support groups can make all the difference.  Good luck.

went today and got my protein mix, so I am on the start of my weight loss.  Thanks for the different ways to eat different things.  I did get some greek yogurt today, a small one to see what it is like.  I eat almonds and rasins alot so that is my "trail mix"

Claudia,
Welcome back to the board. I joined in 2007 so we may have just missed each other. I understand your loss and feelings after. My husband had a massive coronary, triple bypass and debifulator...almost lost him three times. I am lucky enough that he survived but I really balloned my weight and then had my surgery. So glad you came back and trying to get back on track at 20lbs regain instead of it really getting out of control. To get things jumpstarted you might try the 5 day pouch test to help decarb and get back to basics. Eggface is great with easy portion controlled high ptotein low carb easy to pack and go recipes.  Take one day to cook and freeze individual portions to nuke or just defrost and eat. In tryin to keep on my weight I have gone a littlke too far and need to reighn it in so am going to look at and do several of her recipes again. I day you can do enough for a week or 2 worth of food with lots of variety. Sorry so long, feeling a need to help someone and I hope I have helped you tonight!

I have 5 stents in my heart, so that we thought it would have been me and not my husband dying...... I have heard of eggface alot the last few days.  I don't remember the 5 day pouch so can you send this to me to help me.  Any suggestions on what to cook ahead of time I would appreciate it as I don't cook ahead of time, really don't cook any if I can help it.
