Support Groups in Houston? Just had my Sleeve done. :-)

Hi, I just had my sleeve done about a month ago.  I would love to go to a real support group meeting.  I went to the one at Memorial Hermann Med Center, and it was nothing but a sales pitch where the "dietician" sold us vitamins!!  None of the patients talked to each other.  And it seemed that most of them didn't even have their surgery yet.  On the Events Schedule page for Obesity Help, the ONLY -- the ONLY -- support group meeting listed for Texas' largest city -- is the one at Memorial Hermann. 

I went to one at University General Hospital and found it to be okay, but would like to go to more meetings.  Only 1 support group in the past month does not seem to be enough for a newbie like me.  Please help.  Thanks!

Tammy , Glad to hear your surgery went well and you are on the mend. We have an OH support group that mets te 2nd Sat. 10am at Starbucks across from Baybrook Mall in Webster. We also meet as a bigger group the 2nd Mon. at Panera Bread 6:30 -8 p Beltway 8 and Fairmont in Pasadena.We discuss nutrtion and issues. I know I hate when I have to miss the UGH  and OH meetings due to work. They have been a big help in my sucess of 105lb.s in 14 mo.
