Sorry, everyone I have not been on much of lately between work, and schoolwork, and childrens' activities. I had not had much of a chance to really post anything on the board for a while. I noticed a member a few days ago mentioned something about her PCP not believing in Adult ADHD. I find this very disturbing because well I am a adult and I have been diagnosed with ADHD. I am currently taking medication Adderall XR and doing very well.  My recommendation to anyone who finds that the information they are receiving from a doctor is strange or does not make sense to get a second opinion.  I have done this in the past and if you have a good doctor he or she will understand your concerns. I personally, however, do not believe in letting a a primary care doctor perscribe something for a mental health issue. I would rather see a pyschiatrist and psychologist so that testing casn be done and evaluate the need for treatment and to monitor the treatment. We all have invested a lot in ourselves to fight our battle with weight loss and we do not need a problem to go unchecked.  Below is a link to a video from ABC news: abcnews.go.com/GMA/OnCall/video/kids-adult-adhd-12448749

When it comes to your health both mental and physical it is best to see the right doctor for the right problem. However, sometimes it is had to determine the right medical doctor for some medical issues. The important thing is that a individuals seeks out the help they need early.
