Well -  some of you all know that I went to my pcp this past Monday...she wouldn't even talk about the possibility of being adhd..etc....because it is NOT common in adults........yeah right !! Okay - that pissed me off.   This pcp is so notarious for pill pushing and I'm seeing it more and more.

I suspected a couple of things and wanted to check them out..

I'm sad to say that I'll be started on  Metaformin....1x for 2 weeks and then up it to 2pills a day after that.......my A1C was 130.............  this really ticks me off.....in so many ways...

Protein was really low..... 0.5     normal 0.6 - 1.3....so I knew that was coming

thyroid was still normal...........was a 2.1        normal = 0.3 - 5.1

My emotions are just so confused right now in so many ways.....the after gastric bypass surgery stuff is  - well as my sister says in ending a marriage " the honeymoon is over"..isn't that the damn truth.......I just dont' feel as important as I once was in this journey.....is this normal?

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

Phyllis...having wls doesn't guarantee us a healthy life.  We still have the obligation to take off as much weight as we can.  We also need to try to eat healthy as often as we can and stay away from unhealthy carbs as much as possible.  You can decide to be more healthy and eat more healthy or eat what you want or what your head tells you to eat and end up taking meds or gaining weight.

You are important and you have to tell yourself you are.  If you don't think you are, who else will?  Hang in there, stick with what you are learning from the regain group and keep at it.  Hopefully eating more protein and less carbs will raise your protein.  You may need to have a shake for breakfast rather than regular breakfast food.  Drink something when you get hungry (water, decaf tea or coffee, broth, etc.) and just eat what you plan in general.

You can do this for YOU because you are important.

Karla
