endoscopy

Ok heard from Dr. this morning and i have to have an ENDOSCOPY done. Was wondering if anybody has ever gotten a revision approved by just haveing a bad endoscopy report back. My case woeker said since it has been 11yrs since i had my last weight loss surgery(stomache Stappling) that there may be some problems that would get me approved faster. Just wondering if anybody has had this happen for them............God Bless Sheila

Your case worker spelled it out pretty well for you.  They like to see what they are getting into before they get there!

Ok so the Dr. wants to see whats goin on before he does this revision. So what about the insurance company.  Case worker said may get a faster approval from my insurance company. Also may not have to do the 3 mth dr assisted diet if they find a problem wihen they do the ENDOSCOPY. Anybody ever heard of that happening?        God Bless     Sheila

I recently had an endoscopy to determine what was going on with my stoma..if there was a problem with it and if that could account for me gaining 22 pounds in about 15 months.  This was done in mid-October.  My stoma opening was wide open...in other words, no restriction.  My WLS surgeon did do the Scherlerotherapy procedure to close my stoma opening.  On my last followup visit, I did ask him if I was 'close' to having the Stomaphyx.  He stated that he much prefers to do the Scherlerotherapy procedure as opposed to the Stomaphyx, because my procedure is much less costly, and basically does the same thing.  My insurance covered my procedure, whereas they probably would not have covered the Stomaphyx.  Since my procedure, I have lost approx 10 pounds, so I am well on my way to losing that regain.
