I finally got my approval today.  I am so excited.  I just hope the rest goes smoothly.  I have a date set for the 27th of this month

Which surgery are you having?  Do you have to do a pre-op diet?  If you do, that can be tough at the holidays but it will all be worth it in the end.

I'm having the sleeve done.  I do have a 2 week diet of 5 shakes a day plus a meal at night.   I plan on following it to  a T I might have to have a piece of pumpkin pie at christmas though.  It's my weakness.  Do think it would be ok if I don't have the crust?

STEP AWAY FROM THE PUMPKIN PIE!!
first off, you will be able to taste it again.. in fact, i make a hella SF one for after your surgery. In the mean time.. i also have a recipe for a pumpkin pie protein shake.  when i wake up a lil more (i work nights) i will dig it out for you.... I know the 2 week diet sucks.. but your doc isnt doing it to punish you.. its really for your own good surgery wise.

1 cup water
1/4 cup fat-free half & half
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup pure pumpkin puree (or 1/4 cup canned pumpkin.. not pumpkin pie mix, just the pumpkin)
1/4 cup frozen sugar-free whipped topping, thawed
2-3 tablespoons Splenda Granular
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon each ginger and cloves)
6 ice cubes

In a blender combine the water, half & half,  protein powder, pumpkin, whipped topping, Splenda, spices, and ice cubes. Process until smooth and thick. Serve with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Makes one serving.

Per Serving: 220 Cal; 25 g Protein; 5 g Tot Fat; 14 g Carb; 2 g Fiber; 6 g Sugar; 140 mg Sodium

Now, this is a lil more on the heavy side with regards to cals and carbs.. so consider it your 'treat'....

This sounds yummy.  I can replace one of my shakes with this on Christmas day.
