Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas(HELP)
Hello i am hoping to have a revision surgery. I was wanting to know if anyone else has gotten approval from them for a revision and how hard was it. I have high blood pressure, anxiety , lost both parents to cancer and a herniated disc. I had cigna when i had my first weight loss surgery in 1999 (Stomache Stappling) and didn't have any of these health problems and got approved pretty fast. Just looking for alittle help.......thanks god bless Sheila
Hey Shelia!!!
I had a revision in Dec of 09 using BCBS fepblue, the federal plan....DO NOT GIVE UP!!!
I didnt have a horrible time but they do tend to add a little something else to ya from time to time.
I was 1st told that all I needed to do was contact a Dr. of my choice, see if he is on the list of providers and set an appt.
The dr. required a pshyc exam, a nutrition consult and an Upper GI., the insurance decided 2 days before my surgery that I needed to do a 6 month behaviour modification class....I was upset but commited to do whatever it took....
2 weeks before my last class (April 09) I had a stroke....I went to the last class and told the nurse I'd call her when I was ready to go under...I was dealing with having a stroke at 41 with no BP problems or anxiety...I did have sleep apnea and thats a huge precepter to stroke.
I saw my OB/GYN in August of 09 and he ask me what I was waiting on? I called the nurse and the surgery was set for Dec. 09....
It has been the absolute best thing Ive ever done for myself...ever!!!
If they require a bunch of junk, do it.....I swear I feel 20 years younger...I only wish I could have had this earlier in life....I hope to live to my 90's....
I have had no problems per'se....im a nurse and I needed hernia repair at 9 months out...but that wasnt a complication from the surgery.
I took a whole 325mg aspirin instead of a 81 mg baby aspirin and it tore up my stomach for about 9 days, but that was my error...not the WLS fault.
Ive never thrown up. never really had the stuck feeling I read about.
What are you revising from? Mine was a revision from VBG.
Im at about 99 lbs lost...im trying to lose that last lb before this Friday so I can say Ive lost 100 lbs before my first year mark.
Im Tara Lynne Emerson on Facebook, feel free to look me up and add me if you do FB...Good luck to you!
