somethings not right here

Im not sure what on earth is going on, but I do know it isnt right...

I have been having pain for 3 days now...it started out feeling really full, though I had not eaten much at all that day.

I just figured I need to have a good bowel movement. The pain was a radiating pain or spastic pain, coming and going. Mild then worse.  I took 2 pericolace yesterday and had a really good movement.

I also had a pain or fullness feeling under my left rib cage, really close to my heart, I would belch and the pain subsides for the moment.

Today I am still having the upper left chest pain and Im passing alot of gas...I was trying to drink my coffee but it hurt too bad so I switched to water and plan to sip water or broth most of the day...

Could this be an ulcer, should I go get some prilosec otc?

My tummy is a big talker, it has gone silent over the last 3 days...Im calling my MD in the morning....What do ya'll think?

Hi there, I'm haven't had the WLS yet but I have had MANY surgeries in the past and it sounds like trapped gas. I get that under my rib cage like you explained. Gas X helps a lot...Maybe you could try that. I use the ones that disolve on my tongue.

My surgery was almost a year ago...I havent been exposed to open air or air introduced into my peritoneal cavity...so I'm not sure its trapped gas....I would like to think that is all thats wrong....but im pretty sure there is something bigger than trapped gas.


I did take a prevacid about 30 minutes ago...ugh!!! I hope it helps..

TARA-have you already tried GasX, heating pad and walking? If you already have done those things, and they have not helped, PLEASE call Dr TODAY. Somebody is ON CALL somewhere-you're a nurse-right? You know the protocals. I know MY pouch sits somewhere under my left rib cage and sometimes causes weird sensations, but never actually PAIN. If pain is more than a "5", please don't wait until tomorrow. Better safe than emergency surgery, ya know!!! Please keep us up to date.

Im not hurting as bad today, i havent eaten anything though....im warming some chicken noodle soup right now...



ETA: tolerated the soup well....I plan on calling the MD tomorrow...I thank you all for your suggestions....I will try just about anything...so gasX here I come!!!!

Just an update.....spoke with the MD's nurse, we have decided the discomfort is due to me changing from 81 mg chewable aspirin to 325 regular aspirin....

I hafta take the aspirin due to a past stroke......I changed because I ran outta the baby aspirin and had the regular in the cabinet....I will be getting more baby aspirin today...Im gonna take prilosec OTC and keep my diet simple for a few days...
