Continuing my journey
I had posted a few months ago as I was trying to decide if WLS was the route for me. Received several messages of encouragement and I wanted to update all on my status.
I have completed the required 3 month nutritional and had my pysch consult. Heard from my insurance coordinator yesterday and she was faxing all my info to my insurance company. Hopefully, I will receive final approval and have a date scheduled while I'm off for Christmas holidays. I'm torn about having the surgery and not getting to eat a "regular Christmas dinner", but quickly realized that changing my eating habits is going to be lifelong, even with surgery.
My next question is where is the best place to lok on OH for information that might be helpful leading up to and after surgery? There are so many messages posted on the boards -- is it best to read through each one?

Congrats on being so near getting to have surgery. It will be a great Christmas gift!

Also read people's profies. I documented my entire journey from pre-op thru post-plastics on my profile. Just start reading, it will answer a lot of your questions. Christmas dinner is no biggie. By next year you'll be able to enjoy it-just smaller portions.

RNY revision from lapband 7/30/07...TT/BL 10/9/08 and at GOAL
Just wanted to let you know - I had my RNY just a few days before Thanksgiving two years ago. That year for dinner I had chicken broth, SF Jello and water. I was just so happy to be starting my new life that it was GREAT! Of course now I'm able to enjoy all my old favorites - just healthier versions in smaller amounts. I am so pleased with my decision to do this! Good luck to you!
