Surgery Scheduled

I just scheduled surgery to have a tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation on Wednesday, January 12th in Houston.   I'm a big chicken, so I'm counting on all of you to hold my hand through this....both in person, and in spirit.  I'm super excited, but mostly scared.  The good thing about being so afraid of it, is that I'm a model patient.  I'll do everything I can to make sure things go as smoothly as possible.  Any advice from those of you who have been there, done that?

Congrats! I can't wait to live vicariously through you with the tummy tuck. Someday after my baby belly skin.....

As far as the breast stuff....  take it easy on yourself. It took twice as long for my right side to heal as my left. I'm right handed and I did WAY too much and slowed down my healing process.

Soooooo excited for you!! All I have heard is that the better shape you are in the faster you recover! Oh, and up your protein after surgery!!

Congrats...what a way to start the new year with a new body!

a lift chair helps a lot...you may not be able to get up out of a bed for a while.  It's actually not too bad.  I've had all that done (not the augmentation...didn't need it).  Up your protein before surgery and keep it up afterwards.  You'll be just fine.  You will not be able to work for a few weeks.  You'll need plenty of recovery time.  The darn drains are the worst part.  When they come out you're better off.

I'm so excited for you!!!!  I can't believe it will be a year in December since I had mine!  Two weeks before surgery you need to start increasing your protein intake as it will help the healing process.  Some people will say you need a lift chair but I did just fine with my bed.  The thing I would recommend is a toilet that is either free standing or will go on top of yours.  It would have been impossible for me to sit on the toilet let alone get up!!  You will do great and I'll help in anyway I can!

Keep your elbows by your side as much as possible... the less you use your arms the quicker the lift and augementation heal.  I went back to work too quickly and slowed my healing process a lot... I have had 2 breast surgeries and not using your arms to get up both times was pretty hard to remember... I was very thankful that my husband was around to help me sit up in bed... also beware of morning boob... basically when you sit up after sleeping all night your breasts will ache, to help I held a pillow tight to my chest as my husband helped me sit up, it goes away quickly but is pretty uncomfortable...
