The Journey 11/15
Let's talk about sleep.
Do you sleep more or less than before your surgery?
Do you sleep in a bed or recliner?
Do you feel like you get enough sleep?
For years before my surgery, and actually until my plastics, I slept in a recliner. Most of my weight gain was in my butt and hips, plus I had huge lipomas, so sleeping in a bed was like lying on footballs. I was a very light sleeper and could exist on just a few hours of sleep a night. It was a true delight for me when I could actually sleep in my bed.
I still don't sleep as much as many people. Usually my average is about 7 hours, from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m. It's still amazing to me how much I slept on the cruise.
However, recently I am finding it hard to keep my eyes open after 9 p.m., and I'm staying asleep until the alarm goes off at 5 a.m.
I do wake up in pain every day from whatever is going on in my gut (both surgeons think it's adhesions).
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Lynne
I had a harder time sleeping before surgery. I've always slept in a bed. I have a hard time sleeping in a recliner or on a sofa.
I sleep like a dream most nights now. Every once in a while I have a bad night, but I think it's less carbs. I may be wrong.
I normally get 7-8 hrs. sleep a night, which is what adults are supposed to get.
