My favorite farmer's market is closing! I am so bummed!
I don't know what it is about shopping at a farmer's market that is just so much more fun than a grocery store, but it is. I think part of it is taking your time to inspect and choose your purchase. At the grocery store, I always feel like I have to grab things and get out of the way of the next person.
I wish I lived in a place where you can walk from the butcher to the baker to the produce market, and carry it all home. In Houston, you drive miles to anywhere you want to go.
What kind of shopper are you?

I LOVE outdoor markets. We have a market her in town that is a metal building. he gets all his produce straight from the farmers. I get very overwhelmed at places like Central Market. I don't know what half the fruits/veggies even ARE, and the crowds, etc are just too much for me, usually. I understand the "feeling rushed" thing-there's always someone hitting my butt with their basket.
