Fantastic Friday WLS EXPRESS

GOOD MORNING!!! ALL ABOARD!

Its Friday- woo hoo! I had yesterday off for Veterans Day and that was nice. I ended up working about 4 hours on the computer getting caught up on work. I needed to do that because I GOT THE JOB that I interviewed for! Yep, starting Dec 1st I'll be the Employment Assistance Specialist for our office. Mainly that means I'll be working with employers, doing job analysis to see if a job can be done by a person who is visually impaired, and seeing consumers to see what assistive technology they will need to work. I'm excited. After 13 years of case management I'm ready for a change.

What is everyone's plans for the weekend?? We are going to my brother in laws annual poetry reading party which is his birthday party. This will be the 11th year I think. I still haven't finished my poem yet-need to work on it. I don't like writing poetry but I try.

I was planning on being off today. The babies aren't going to school (the other grandparents are in town) so it makes it easier for me to take off. However, yesterday afternoon I realized I have to do payroll! So, I'm going in later than normal, doing paytoll, and then leaving.

Maybe I'll call my mom and we'll do lunch.

I swear I'm getting my hair cut THIS weekend. I've only been trying to find time to do it for about a month.

Ready for a busy day at work including discipline ARD at 8, pep rally at 9:45 and lots of folders to process.  Ben is coming home from college today and I'm looking forward to that.  We're hanging at home tonight and he'll cook steak on the grill.  I am looking forward to the cold front and our playoff football game in Beaumont tomorrow.  I need one cold football game to feel like it was really football season.

Alissa, Congrats on the job.

I have took today off since yesterday was a holiday so I have a extra long weekend and I am so enjoying it.  We are having a wedding shower for my niece Sunday so I plan to go get all the stuff for that plus go buy a gift.

Hey You Guys!

Lots left to do before my weekend officially starts at 3:45 this afternoon. I still have report cards to finish up. I have two special ed secretaries and they do TONS of stuff for the department but if I could have one wi**** would be that they do my report cards.... I hate doing them! I am the world's worst procrastinator too.  Today is my paperwork/testing day so I am hoping to get a lot done.

The girls are going with their mom for the weekend and Dirk and I are headed to the lake. We are taking inventory of the RV to make sure we have enough blankets and that the stove and everything works well for for livestock competition shows that we are taking the girls to in Glen Rose in a month. After the show we are bringing the RV home to park in the driveway so that we have an extra four beds over the holidays and for Blake's birthday. We are also taking the boat over to get it winterized. I think we'll probably bring it home too. We will also winterize the lake house and make sure the pipes and such are insulated, and that the fridge and all the other things get turned off.

Tonite Dirk and I are going to see a movie and maybe even grab some dinner. Sunday Dirk plans on working in the barn and I'll start getting recipes and ingredients together for when Blake gets here. I'd like to have a month's supply of dinners in the deep freeze so that we don't have to worry with it. Dirk reminded me last night that he is fully capable of taking care of me and Blake and that cooking is part of that. I'd rather him just spend time with us and not worry with cooking. He was a single dad for two years before I came along so I am not worried that he's capable but if I can get dinners together now then why bother with it?
