The Journey 11/9

I can't get used to this time change! By 9 p.m. I am so tired I can't keep my eyes open. Heck, by 7:30 p.m. I had to fight to stay awake to watch House last night - even had to rewind twice to see things I missed.

I have a pretty good lunch planned and an idea for dinner - just need to figure out what I want for breakfast. Right now I'm not hungry, which is odd for me - usually I'm starving when I wake up. So, I don't really feel like cooking and eating before I pick up the babies. I need to find something to carry with me that doesn't involve driving through a fast-food place.

I wish I had the motivation to make a shake, but I just can't comprehend getting out all the ingredients and equipment.

I need a cook!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

LYNNE-I have to have everything planned and READY to grab the night before or I'd never make it. You could even cut up some omelette stuff, put it in a bowl or baggy and and have it all ready to go-during the commercials on "House"!

Lynne --

I listened to a Motivation CD from Katie Jay @ NAWLS once and she said something that was key:

"Motivation is a choice, not a feeling"  - you have to go out there and find what motivates you.

Just do it!  Make the shake.

I have faith in you.

Hugs,
Lisa

What ingredients and equipment???

All you need is a shaker bottle and protein powder.  If you don't like them with water (like me), pour in some milk (Lactose free if necessary), a scoop of powder, give it a few good shakes and throw it in your bag.  Shake it some more in the car while you are diriving and drink it on the way.

Grab a couple of cheese sticks if you want something solid.

Make a fold-over ham & cheese sandwich the night before.

Fast food is the devil and will stall out any weight loss you are trying to achieve.

I can't get down watery shakes, so I guess I was thinking of ice, fruit, getting out the blender, etc. I should find my shaker bottles and try it.

I remembered that I had one boiled egg left so I brought that and ate it with a pear.

If you want fruit to make it thicker then you need the blender/magic bullet thingie.

Frozen unsweetened fruit saves you from chopping and provides the ice also.

Sam's has a big bag of chopped up mixed frozen fruit. I always get that when I am on a smoothie kick. You don't need to use ice when you do it that way.

My favorite lunch when I was a skinny, starving college student was an apple, a granola bar and a thick slice of cheese.  You have your fruit, complex carbs and protein with no cooking and no mess to clean up.
