Does anyone else add milk to their protein?
Why did he say not to put milk in them, because of the extra calories? Maybe there's one you can find that tastes better. Most of them are not really yummy with or without milk. You could try Click Vanilla Latte. It doesn't have as much protein but I don't think it has much sugar in the vanilla.
Maybe he's concerned about milk on your stomach since you aren't very far out. Have you tried Isopure in the bottle. It's more like a fruit juice, tart but I really liked the Passion Fruit.

I would ask your surgeon the reason he says this. I have used skim or lowfat such as mootopia choc. or plain with protein since surgery almosst 5 years ago. You should do what your dr. says, but check out what the reason is. He might okay it if you talk to him about it.
Sometimes combinations of things will make you dump, for instance protein + milk+ peanut butter makes me dump big time. protein + milk by itself is fine.

I don't know why your surgeon says no milk, but I use skim Calorie Countdown (green carton) and have for years. It has no fat and less sugar than regular milk.

Thank you all for your input. They told us not to add milk because of the added calories... I am using 1% or skim (if you have never tried Braum's skim milk... I seriously suggest it!!). It didn't have anything to do with anything else... I was just wondering what other people did. Be well my friends!
I'm a Barker Babe as well and he told me the same thing (3+ years ago) due to the added calories. I use Hood's Calorie Countdown instead of milk but ONLY cuz my tummy doesn't tolerate milk. Like I told Dr B...my shakes are about 220 calories each and since I use them as a "meal replacement", it works for me. If milk works for you, I say go for it.
