New to the board- have a question r/t clothes
Hi everyone. Well, I cleaned out my closet this past weekend and I have 6 black garbage bags of clothes.
I think I can take some to the local shelter but I have alot from Macys, Lane Bryant and Kohls. Nice work clothes. Some with tags still. I have a bunch of Flax.
All size 26/28 or 3x.
My question is, does anyone know of a good consignment store that deals with larger clothing in the Houston/Galveston area.
I could use some bucks to go buy new stuff!
Thanks in advance!!

I found it wasn't worth the effort. There are two plus-size consignment stores near Katy. Most of the other shops don't/won't take plus-sized clothing. You have to have an appointment during the week to take things to them. The items must be on hangers, be cleaned, and in season. They will take no more than 8 items at a time. They set the price, reduce it every week, and if it doesn't sell in 4 weeks you have to come and pick it up or they keep it and you get no cash. If your item does sell you get a small fee usually only a few dollars and you must come into the store and pick up your check weekly.
I found it much easier and more satisfying to either give items to someone in my support group or take it to Good Will.
