FRIDAY GRATEFUL POST
As I think about all that is going on around me today....I can't imagine why people don't post what they are grateful for. A friend on one of the message boards lost her father today....my friend's 19 yr.old son is going in for a cancerous brain tumor.....and no telling what else is going on that I am not aware of. In this life....we ALL have so very very much to be grateful for....even if it is just waking to a beautiful day outside. Today I am grateful for.......
Grace and answered prayers,
My Faith,
My WLS,
For Family.....who is SO important in all our lives,
For Life....we sometimes that this very much for granted,
For Support that we give each other.....on OH and off the computers,
For our jobs and homes and cars.....etc.
For Obesity Help and all the wonderful, caring people here that genuinely care about others,
For our extended families that we have made here on OH with others just like us that "get us",
For our lives that we have been blessed to have and all the wonderful experiences that we have gone through,
For the upcoming OH Conference in Houston, Tx. Nov. 5-6. Hope to see you there.

and.... here is the BIGGEST ONE. Its kinda long, but well worth reading.
My sister is mentally retarded. She functions on a two year old's level. The doctor's have said that is only because they have no scores lower than two year old. My parents are getting older, and their health is getting worse. She is not my biological sister, they have just had guardianship over her since she was a few days old. Because of how much help she needs and government funding, they have had a very hard time finding her a place to stay. She has been on a 10year waiting list for funding.
HERE'S WHERE GOD COMES IN..... My dad is being forced into early retirement. They will be moving to Arkansas in April. #1 They found a dream home in the mountains on their very first house hunting trip, and they were able to buy it out right. #2 My sister got approved for funding, my parents found her a home to live in, AND it is in a group home with a very nice woman who they have personally know. #3 There have been some road blocks getting her moved... LEGALITIES... DON'T YOU LOVE THEM? However, it looks like she will be moving 10/25 if the government agrees to it.
Please pray that they will agree to it. She fell through the system and hasn't had testing they make her have to "prove she is still mentally retarded" in several years. That test is causing a lot of issues, but it looks like the may approve for her to have it done after she moves. She was supposed to have got to move last weekend.
