Hi Gina Gayle! I am so glad you did this, I'll play along as well!

I'm GIna L (the other Gina Gayle)and I had Lap RNY on 10/28/05, so in a few weeks, I will be 5 years out. I started at 263 pounds, size 26W pants and 2XL and 3XL tops.  Today I weigh 168 pounds, wear a size 12  pants and L shirts.  I've had my share of bumps along the way, but I would do it all over again in a heart beat! Can't begin to tell you about the friends I have made that I know are friends for life! My lowest weight was 153 a couple years ago at a size 8...to be honest, friends and family thought I was too thin and my body wasn't happy there at all! So I have gained a little but have been able to maintain under 170, which is good for me.

Also, my hubby had Open RNY on January 17, 2005. He started at 400 pounds and lost down to 238. He's also experienced some great changes including off insulin and diabetes meds. He has also had some regain, but we are working on that as well.I would still say even with his gain, he is very successful at 265!

I am Anne. I am a little over 6 years post op from RNY and unfortunately have had a number of complications, both in the beginning and then recently over the past 18 months or so. I have to be honest and say knowing what I know now (and have learned from the doctor I have now) I would not make the choice again to have wls. I am about 20 pounds over my goal and working on losing it.
I am finishing up school this semester to become a licensed chemical dependency counselor. (Think I will graduate - I may delay it one more semester again!)
I have met IRL some of the great people on here and hoping to meet more in Houston - provided our youngest son's girlfriend does not have her baby that weekend!

I'm a newbie and I'm liking what I'm seeing on these message board thingies.  You all seem like family  and have a true interest in what other people are saying and going through.  My schedule is kinda crazy so I don't think I could post at a regular time everyday but I will try to post something.
About me, I had a Realize band put in on 6/1/10 by Vadim Sherman.  So far, I've lost 42 lbs and I'm working on a goal of losing 100 lbs total.  I know it's not "normal" for a band-er to lost that much but I've gotten inspired by the young lady who does the accountability posts. (sorry I forgot your name as I type this)
I stated in an earlier post that I was interested in attending the workshop in Houston but I'm trying to get someone to go with me or get to know some of yall on here that I would feel comfortable.
A cool thing about me is that at my old job, I used to be in the Operating Room scrubbed in on the different WLS.  I know a little too much about it but I still had it anyway.  I'm happier now and look forward to being off my diabetic meds and get cleared from my cardiologist and pulmonologist.

only for you my sistah!

I am Becky, and I am 3 1/2 years out.  My heaviest was 340. My lowest 151.  I currently range between 155 and 160.  size 8-10 from size 30.

Here's the down and dirty. It's hard work and it gets harder the further out.  Every day still involves planning and making the right choices. OR the weight will come right back on. If you want to eat the same crap everyday like before WLS you WILL NOT get to or stay at goal.  It gets very frustrating sometimes, but it's worth it every single day.

The best part of all of this is the wonderful 'family' I have now. My chosen family - all of you! Party animals, shy and deaf (but still sweet), lurkers, posters, all of you.  Now let me see if I can post some pics.

Hi there ladies!

I'm Deborah and I lurk here occasionally but I mainly just post on Paige's accountability post (I attend her support group).  I'm a little over 2 years out post sleeve and I've lost almost 100 lbs.  I truly love my sleeve!  No complications, easy recovery, little to no maintenance- what more could you ask for!   I've lived in Katy for the last 10 years and I'm originally from Houston.  What can I say other than I'm healthier and happier than I've been in a very long time!  No more BP meds, cholesterol is better.  For the most part, I post on the VSG board.  I also attend the Cyfair support group.  Let's see, both my husband and I work in the Oil & Gas industry and I think that about wraps it up.
