Ideas for birthday celebrations after WLS?
I need some ideas on how to celebrate my birthday after WLS. What do you do now that you don't focus on sugar and sweets? My friends want to celebrate with me and sometimes it does involve food. My Red Hat group wants to celebrate with me at our monthly meeting. So it does involve being in a restaurant. Ideas? What do you do now?

hubby is going to Dallas in a few weeks..where can I find this cake???? I guess I find it hard to make other's change their ways to accomodate me...especially my Red Hatters...they like food, sugar, fat stuff. and one of the ladies shares her birthday with me so how do I accomodate everyone and not make anyone feel bad cos I won't be eating their food? Does that make sense? Am I being a drama queen about it?

Cindi's Dinner , there are several locations and you can google them, find the easiest location. I would call ahead and order it! I was sick on mybirthday and the only part of my birthday I celebrated was a sm piece of cake...I don't think your friends will know it is sugar free!
As far as your friends are concerned, if they know about your surgery they should respect that, it is not about them anyway. Do not make an issue about what you can or can't eat just eat what you know is safe for you. If they make an issue say You are being extra carefull so you don't have a problem and have to miss any of your special time with them! I do not have people change what they bring to events to fit my needs just work around what they do bring and make sure I bring something I can enjoy and think they will too! Something that isn't obviously WLS friendly. It is amasing what they don't know and they dont notice what ismissing!!

HEB usually will have slices of s/f cake in the bakery - They are good. (Wal-Mart occassionally has them also.)
If you go out to eat, just order what you want to eat and take it home. I usually just order off the menu, take my left overs home and have them the next day. (Sometimes 2 days!)
