Hello,
Well I made it home on Thurs afternoon after surgery on Tuesday.  So relieved that that's over.  I have not had any gas pains and only 2 bouts of nausea.  I was prepared for the worst so maybe I'll get by the gas pains afterall.  If I haven't had gas pains by now do you think I will get them later?  The only problem I'm having at home is my 5 cats really missed me for 2 nights and they are trying to make up for lost time.  They are all snuggle bunnies!

 Hi Laurie,

Welcome to the losers bench.    As for the gas pains with VSG.....I am not sure.   I would say if you don't have gas pains....you probably won't get them.    As for your precious fur babies missing you.   Place a pillow over your incisions and let them love on you.     Sometimes our thoughts about WLS before it happens are actually alot worse that what it really is.    I am so glad that you didn't have a hard time.   Good luck to you and I look forward to reading more positive posts from you.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Welcome to the loosers bench!! I agree with Viv, if you haven't had gas pain by now you aren't going to have it. I have cats too and I did exactly what Viv suggested and kept a pillow on my lap. Stick with us and we will help you all we can . i am an RNYer but we have lots of VSG people too!!

Welcome to the loser bench, my problem with my surgery was my little girl. I made my wife mad by ignoring the doctor and lifting and holding my daughter. I have a high threshold of pain but also was careful not to wind up with a hernia. Make sure you are following the surgeons orders the best you can and walk around periodically during the day. I do not know if I would go to the Old Hutto day's event but today is a good day for and a chance for some walking around. The next few weeks you see some of the biggest weight-loss as you work on recovering from the surgery. There is a lot of people here at the TMB that can provide some words of wisdom and two of the best already spoken Vivian and Maggie. One advice I can share that these ladies have mentioned to me is listen to your body and if you have a problem speak with your doctor about it.
