Went to see new gastro guy...Dr Tom Dewar!! He thinks I can be eating in a couple of weeeks, prescribed a new drug that is specially compounded by a pharmacist! take it 3x day and in a couple of days wants me to start advancing my diet!! He really thinks this will help!

If it doesnt he said the Cleveland Clinic is a great option for me and that even if pouch does wake up, I should probably go up there that I am a prime candidate for their GI program with all the weirdness I have had, Actually he said Iam not weird, I am exotic!!

For the first time in 2-3 weeks I am feeling hopeful. I am feeling like I wont always be a freak and that I may be "normal" one day!

Oh Sweetie-
You're not a freak! You're just a little "exotic" lol . No really- you have truly been thru ENOUGH! I am praying that this will be the END!!!

Besides, normal is overrated!!

Love you!
Tracey

Hmmmm, we'll see. We'll have to ask Ken for his opinion on that.
Meggie, you said after your mother had her pacemaker implanted, she was a new woman...what did they do with the old one?

Meggie - I am  that the new meds will do the trick and your life can get back to normal.  I know that almost everything has been done (short of holding a Seance ) to get your    pouch to act right.

I know that "feeling like an oddity" feeling...everyone else goes about their business, but we have to weigh our options not knowing what's gonna happen to us next .  I just called myself UNIQUE (even if I thought I was a freak).  So, girl you're not a freak, you're the EXOTIC shade of Normal!!!!

Truly, I'm hoping that the new meds will work and that going to the Cleveland Clinic will also help YOU and then you in turn can help others who may fall into this situation.  I've heard good things about their GI Department/Clinic...in fact they were an option for me with my GI issues but ended up going to the Mayo Clinic - Arizona since they were already doing a bunch of my lab testing and my doc had already sent a copy of my records to the GI department.  It made things easier on me without having to lug a backpack full of my record(s).

Good luck and I'll be saying prayers for you!!!

Thanks forr your kind words! Funny you should use the word"exotic", that is what my new GI guy called me!!  Kinda has a nice ring to it being a white bread kind of girl all  my life!! Hee hee!!

Tried regular mashed tators last night...not pretty!! However I can eat a couple of crackers at a time and can let a sugar free candy melt in my mouth, but other than that I am still doing pretty thin liquids!

talked about the mayo clinic but all my Docs concured that Cleveland would be a better match plus a couple of them have associates they know there!! Always helpful!!

So glad we both have this forum of people who can understand, relate ,and support us as we go through this journey. I don't know if I could have done all this without my chosen family on the TMB!!
