Following Questions you can answer YES OR NO to:
19) Do you eat foods that you both chew and then spit out before swallowing? no
20) Do you find that you think of food more now than you ever did? no 21) Do you avoid eating out with friends or in social settings? no
22) Do you hide your feelings and/or opinions from people for fear of being judged negatively, and/or do you feel like a burden to others with your problems? no - I am 51 years old and what other people think isn't important at that age LOL.
23) Do you think you are not good enough, stupid and/or worthless or that people are always judging you in a negative way? no
24) Within your family and/or circle of friends are you considered "the strong one" who everyone will come to with problems, and/or you never seem to talk much about your own? yes
25) Do you find yourself often comparing your appearance and weight to others, strangers and/or models and actors, and wishing to be as "nice looking" or as "thin" as they are? no, I don't care what size other people are - I am just happy to not be fat anymore.
26) Do family members and/or friends often express concern for your weight-loss/gain, your appearance, and/or your eating habits? not anymore. My Dad used to be concerned about my health when I was big but he is happy for me now. Fortunately I haven't had any health issues with my WLS.
27) Do you think everyone's problems are more important than your own, or do you belittle your own emotions and pain? No and no.
28) Do you often feel numb or empty inside, like your life lacks fulfillment and happiness, like something is missing or there is a void inside? No. I am happy with my life and what I want to do with the years I have left.
29) Do you feel as though you have a "conscience" or "voice" that tells you negative things about yourself, convinces you that you do not deserve to eat and/or to be happy, or that tells you that you are or deserve to be fat and ugly? No. My self-image has always been strong, even when I was big.

30) Do you eat, self-starve or restrict, binge and/or purge, and/or compulsively exercise when you are feeling lonely, badly about yourself or about a situation, or when you are feeling emotional pressures? No
31) While eating, self-starving, or binging and/or purging do you feel comforted, relieved, like emotional pressures have been lifted, or like you are in more control? No
32) When eating do you ever feel out of control or like you will lose control and not be able to stop; and/or do you try to avoid eating because of this fear? No - my surgery has given me the portion control I lacked before surgery. I like that.
33) Do you typically feel guilty after a binge, or after any snack or meal, and like you have almost instantly gained weight, like you are a failure, and/or like you have sabotaged yourself? No. I indulge myself from time to time and enjoy it and do not feel guilty because I can't really overeat with my surgery. I just cut back on the snacking the next day.
34) Do you use self-starvation, purging, diet pills, laxatives, diuretics, and/or obsessive exercise as a way to attempt to lose weight? No
35) Do you drink a lot of water, tea or coffee, eat a lot of candy or junk food and/or gum, smoke, and/or take caffeine pills as an attempt to control appetite and/or feel more energetic? No, my WLS is enough.
36) Do you weigh yourself often and does the number on the scale dictate your mood and/or self-worth for the day; and/or do you find you are continuously trying to get that number lower? No. Even when I weighed daily I did not obsess over it or get upset. And now if I see the scale creeping up I just cut back on the carbs.
37) Are you constantly "on a diet", and/or counting calories and fat grams; and/or do you feel like you've tried every "fad diet" or "lose weight quick" scheme? No, I don't track anything now, and only tracked early on to make sure I was getting enough protein. I DO NOT eat a low fat diet as I don't think it is healthy.
38) Do you set weight-goals for yourself only to find when you reach it that you want to lose more? No. I am happy with where I am at and do not want to lose any more.

that is just too many questions to fit in one post. The bottom line, I chose the DS because I didn't want to count calories, I didn't want to count fat, I didn't want to count anything, and I wanted to lose weight and keep it off. I eat over 4000 calories a day, I've been doing that for over 2 years since I've hit goal. About 1 time a year I go on a low carb diet for 4 or 5 days because I hate it when I hit the high end of my "comfort" weight. I lose weight very rapidly, so 5 days of low carbing usually nets me with close to an 8 lb weight loss. Other then that I eat more like a "normal" person then normal people do, because they constantly have to watch their weight. I drink lots of water, take a few hand fulls of vits a day, and yada yada yada....I've been at a stable weight for over 2 years. I haven't weighed myself in months, I go by how my cloths fit, they are very accurate in telling me when I've gained 3 lbs. It's insane that at 500 lbs you can gain 20 lbs and not even notice, but at 195 you can gain 5 lbs and feel like a blimp.
I don't measure food, I'd have the surgery over again in a second, and it has been all that I needed to maintain my weight loss.
Hope that answers some of your questions.
