OK Texans....talk to me.  I'm a little over 1 week from surgery and I'm feeling a little nervous, but not scared out of my mind yet.

A little nervous is fine and par for the course.  But they ain't no sense in "buying trouble for yourself" by getting scared out of your mind.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Well i'm not from Texas but my husband was, does that count?  no need to be scared,  you know you are doing the right thing,  you finally get to make all the changes you have been dreaming of,  i was very calm,  i knew this was finally gonna happen,  i wanted this bad,  and its great on this side.  Put your trust in the knowledge that this a good thing and hold on and enjoy the ride.   It really is so  amazing.  I'll be four months on tuesday and what a difference already,  mind boggling really so be happy,  be ready to make all the great changes and believe in yourself,  you're gonna one day soon be so amazed.  This is doable,  the price we pay is so worth it,  all the hard work and effort will pay off.   Take care Jeani

Hi Laurie,

You know that you are doing the best thing for yourself that you have ever done.    Yes.....Lifestyle changes are scary at first.   But I am sure that you have done your research on the sleeve and you know what it is all about.    It is a AWESOME surgery ( I had RNY ) but know many very successful people with the sleeve and I just know that  you will be a huge success too.    It will be OK...trust me.  Just hang on and when you have questions come here or go to the VSG forum....there are some absolutely wonderful people there always willing to help and give great advice.    Good luck to you...you will be in my prayers.

hey Laurie, being scared is normal! No need to be scared out of your mind ,take a deep breath and look to the future! A healthier body and soul, being able to tie your own shoes, endless choices in buying clothes, fitting in any seat or chair anywhere!! I had rny a little over 3 yrs ago and am so glad I did and happy with the amazing positive changes in my life

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.  I have done my research and know this is in my best interest.  I look forward to losing weight because my daughter is getting married May 14, 2011 and mother of the bride wants to look good.
