I'm geting discouraged about plastic surgery

3 consults and the only Dr. that I am happy with Is out of network and really costly. An other DR. Suggestions would be appreciated
 

 Have you checked out the plastic surgeon's in your area here on Obesity Help???   You can find them in the green part about the TLC Edge ad above.   I wish I knew some that I could suggest to you in your area.    Also have you gone to the Plastic Surgery Message Board and asked if anyone could suggest one on there for you to check out.    FYI....PLEASE make sure that whoever you use is EXTREMELY experienced in doing PS on WLS patients.   I used one here in Fort Worth that was a PS for 4 yrs.    He did a good job at the time but with PS you don't see the final results till after a year.   He did NOT take enough skin and I have body image issues due to this and I paid $13,000 out of pocket for mine.   Good luck to you.

You might check with some of your teaching hospitals, I had my done at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for about half the cost. I am really happy with my results. Good luck and don't give up.

Did you check to see if the plastics are covered by your insurance?  Most insurances won't cover them even when the surgeon is on the plan, but some do. I ended up being self pay.  I took out a signature loan and I took a loan on our truck that had just been paid off.  I would say that I'm very glad I picked a really good surgeon (Dr. Lomonaco).  I had a LBL, BL and implants, and it was very very hard. But with Dr. L, I had no complications and he did beautiful work.  I have seen alot of botched ps jobs and heard of people with aweful complications, so I would make sure you have a really good surgeon who has lots of practice doing the kind of ps you are getting specificly on bariatric patients. You can send me a pm if you have any questions about the surgery.  I had it done a year ago.

I've deceided to go with DR. L.  My plan does cover some plastics and I already have an approval. So I'm gonna pay him upfront for the extended tummy tuck and then file on my insurance.  He does amazing work, so I definately want my tummy in his hands.
