Saturday WLS EXPRESS
Have a great day everyone!
Today is going to be a nice day. First off...social time with the Central Market group. Yay! I have been out so little since surgery it will feel awesome to get out and be social.
Second...hello....Central Market. That means shopping! Hehe...not too much tho. Clint is coming along to meet people this morning but that means I have a built in stopper from spending too much. Haha...I'm really just going to limit myself to some almond flour from the bulk bin and some pepperoni for some egg bites.
Tonight a girlfriend is having her bachelorette party at Pete's Deuling Piano Bar in Addison. If you have never heard of this place...you MUST go. There are 2 in DFW area, the original in Austin, there might be one down in Houston and they just opened one in Vegas. Its apparently one of the new hip places on the strip. But its a fun, bawdy place to go...I'll of course be the token "sober person" but it will be a great time regardless.
I do remember 9 years ago...I was in a very dark and lonely place when the plane**** the towers. I had just moved to Texas for 1 person and all my friends and family were thousands of miles away. I am especially thankful to all the men and women protecting our freedom and my extra prayers are for everyone today to remember where they were, realize where they are now and reflect on the power of tolerance and love.
Much love to you all!
See you at Central Market!
Good morning all!Today will be another busy day. Apparently I LIKE busy...didn't sleep well...then apparently allergic reaction to something-maybe to Richard-my eyes are swollen and hard-can't even put my warpaint on-pretty scary-feel sorry for the Central Market folks....have a peewee football game to attend this afternoon, then work tonight (if these monster eyes return to normal by then)...
JENN-thanks for mentioning 9/11. May we never forget. I was working as a "school nurse" for a chain of day cares, but my home base was here in town. I had just returned from taking a vanload of kiddoes to school, whe one of the daycare workers told me about the first plane. We turned on the TV in my office in time to see the second plane hit and all that happened afterward. My brother was a Marine, working in the Pentagon, at the time.. ..very trying day, of course. Many parents went to school and picked up their children early--just to have these close---but didn't tell US--so we, as the daycare, couldn't find them..mass confusion...but I remember everyone being unusually KIND to each other that afternoon-even with all the traffic snarls at the chools, etc. My boys were in 7th and 4th grades then. Our schools chose to tell them the general cusp of what they felt they could handle-then the 7th graders played their first football game that night!
Later that night, I met neighbors on my street I had never met..just because. My brother, in the Pentagon, was fine, but did lose friends of his, and was able to assist in evacuation of others. He still has nightmares.

We Can Do Hard Things
9-11 I remember .................I was sitting in the car having my usual Grandy's low-carb breakfast - just before going into work............when I walked into the building (I was working on-site at Fleming Companies - in OKC) for the insurance claims company that I currently still work for......... the security guard said that he was watching a news show and all of a sudden a plan flew in to the building.......................they weren't sure what was going on - all they knew then was that it definately wasn't weather related...........then before I could get up to the 3rd floor and to my desk - the 2nd plane flew into the 2nd building.............couple of hours later - we were dissmissed to go home for the day....................I was really new to ESIS at the time and so we all handled the crisis at work differently. I know wished I'd stayed at work and just worked..........but knowing then what I know now................thats life.........I still have mixed feelings about the whole ordeal but in reality - we all DO have different ways of handling things - don't we ? I was in OKC during the OKC bombing too...........so many feelings and emotions....
You have a GREAT day !! (((((((((((((((Huggggssss)))))))))))))))))))

Didn't sleep well. I could not sleep lying down so I just slept in the chair. Not too good for my back, but did get some sleep. I am having a problem with some constipation problems. Introducing new semi-solid foods....Is that it?? Or is it something else? I am getting in 64 oz of water and 15 min of walking a day.
Anybody have an easy solution?
Prayers go out to all our 9/11 Heros and survivors, and anyone who needs them.
Well not morning, meh I have been sick since Thursday night, lost my voice yesterday and dangit I probably should not have taken it but umm yeah post-op nyquil capsules, rock. I slept like a baby and could breathe. Sad thing is I still want to curl up and sleep. Would happen the weekend he wants to move back into our old office, so I am doing what I can.
Jen, give Katheryn a hug for me as I will not be able to make it, and hope you all have a blast. Today just making sure I rest, keeping up with fluids, and trying to keep pouch from being too grumpy.
9 years ago I was at work, worried about one of our hotels and the people there, and of course all the drama and scares afterwards.
